Thanksgiving, an injury took the season I had spent the year chasing. More than half a year of uncertainty followed. Eventually I couldn’t find it in me to want to play anymore.

Even then DePauw stayed with me. They were the very first school to offer me back in 2024. Coach Loyd and his staff never stopped believing in me through every setback and unknown since.

To Coach Rick, Coach Sowa, Coach Tucker, Coach Waller, Coach Wilkes, and Coach Wolfrum. Each of you poured your time, energy, and trust into me. I carry it all with me.

Thank you to Coach Don for picking up the phone at my lowest and helping me grow in my faith. Thank you to Larry Golden and Mike Brooks for your honesty and guidance. Thank you to Ivan Asanin for backing me and building what’s next.

Every teammate, friend, and person who showed up for me, thank you. I wouldn’t still be playing without you.

For a long time I didn’t know if I wanted to keep playing. I’m not the same player I was a year ago. I’m still figuring out who I’m becoming. But I’m grateful for the chance to keep going. I owe it to myself and everyone who saw something in me to see this through.

Coming in as a senior transfer, I knew there would be challenges, but nothing prepared me for what it felt like to wait. Watching from the sideline, showing up every day, knowing what I was capable of but not being able to show it. It messed with me. I questioned myself, questioned my decision, questioned if things would ever change. I wanted to believe patience would pay off, but with this being my final year, every day felt like time slipping away.

Doubt crept in, but so did determination. Slowly, it was coming together. I got my chance, and I made sure there was no reason to take it away. For the first time in forever, I began to play with joy and love for the game. I got my confidence back. Once that happened, there was no going back. From mid-January on, I wasn’t just playing, I was living every moment. The season since then was the best basketball I’ve ever played because of who I got to do it with. My teammates stood ten toes behind me, my coaches saw me differently, and every game felt like another chance to make up all the time I spent waiting.

We didn’t finish the way we were supposed to, but this season gave me more than I ever expected. It gave me struggle, it gave me growth, and most importantly, it gave me a family I never knew I needed. To my teammates, you made this season worth it. To my coaches, thank you for trusting me and pushing me to become the best I can be. To this school, I missed out on a lot and wish I came here sooner. Thank you for giving me a home. Proud to call myself a Bronco. #21out✌🏼 taken in Barrington High School by @theonlytacher
