I’m trying to teach my kiddo the beauty of nature and enjoy simple quality time such as laying on top of a grassy hill and just stare up at the wind caressed rustling leaves. We had 20 minutes of pure bless as we stared into the leaves, admiring the branches and the clear blue sky behind it. For a moment, I felt my mind teleporting to a cottage in England, and my heart becoming so free. We made a game of picking up leaves, drawing in the sand, and had a blast doing that for the longest time. I want to teach her that we don’t need a million man made toys to be happy when nature offers everything we need to have fun! by @theopas555

This little hidden Japanese speakeasy @bar.kamon at San Diego teleports you to the Art Deco Taisho era of Japan. It is a time capsule back into Japanese Great Gatsby with unique cocktails and whiskey straight from the motherland. Each drink was phenomenal and the service was exceptional.The art deco maniac in me wanted to live inside this bar forever.

One of the coolest local experience at San Diego with @totalraptorexperience where we learn about hawks and falcons overlooking the beautiful Torrey Pines beach. It’s not everyday one gets to hold these beautiful birds of prey in their hands. I am amazed at how light they were! They weighed nothing! 🤯 by @theopas555

Truly mesmerized by the magic at @leilanorthpark where they teleport you to the perfect storybook desert from Arabian Nights. They serve mind blowing good Persian cuisine and everything was perfect: taste, ambiance, and service. Crossed off a bucket list with mom where I took her to see @rain_oppa live in concert in LA. She was his OG fan girl when he starred in Full House and her love for Rain fueled my obsession with his music, dance, and acting. He was my intro to Kpop but no other Kpop star matches his aura and rizz! Mom almost swooned when she was able to shake his hand (I managed to brush my fingers on his hand for a glorious split second). It was adorable seeing her know most of his songs and screamed Lalala with me during encore. I was a poor college student when he came to LA in 2007 so I bought all of his CDs and posters instead it felt surreal being able to see him in person finally. Mom and I had such a good time, she said shaking Rain’s hand will make her live longer. I hope so too so I can take her to all the Rain concert there is! I also got featured on the concert’s dance cam where I’m suppose to get a gift??!! Uhhh the merch team said no… so @rain_oppa what do I need to do to get a little piece of Rainism? 😘🥰😘🥰 by @theopas555

Today’s celebration of life for Mr. K was a testament to his legacy. It was wonderful to see old classmates and friends reunite after 20 years to honor his memory. Mr. K’s devotion to Sharon and his dedication to teaching are an inspiration. The discipline he instilled in us has stayed with us all these years. Thank you, Sharon, for the lovely photos and recordings. Rest in Peace, Mr. K. I love you so, so, so much. by @theopas555

Most amazing and memorable night where I almost peed my pants from laughing. @jimmyoyang is one of my top fav comedians whom I can relate to so much as a Shanghainese/Hong Konger hybrid US immigrant myself. Beyond honored to have the chance to snap these memorable photos with mama and papa O’Yang and to top it off, the legend himself. I felt no shame begging in both Shanghainese and Cantonese, anything to get their attention. 🤣

Special thanks to my adorable friend Yunshun who encouraged us to be patient while waiting for Jimmy. It felt like a gamble waiting outside the door and when we hit the jackpot, that adrenaline rush felt amazing!

A memorable experience getting to meet some of my favorite authors in person at my very first book convention with RomantasyCon.

I decided to do a day trip where I took the FlixBus at 6am from San Diego to Los Angeles for this convention (didn’t want to deal with horrible LA traffic) and I’ve been up since 4am.

My highlight was definitely having lunch with Emma Hamm and her lovely fiance, Tate, where I got to know her as a friend. She is one of the kindest and down to earth person you can meet and her imagination with her books is amazing. I also get to meet Zoey Draven in person today where she is one of the handful of authors where I read her entire bibliography. I was humbled to know both of them knew who I was, so I was definitely fan girling during my moments meeting them.

Now I get to wrap up my evening serving as a volunteer at the event. Then off to meeting my bff for dinner and call it a night! by @theopas555

This summarizes me in 2024 as I dove head first into motherhood where everything is a second priority except my little one. This year zipped by so quickly and it was insane to see her transform from a loaf in my tummy to this tall giggly bundle of joy. Balancing motherhood, family, my own business and corporate job ain’t a walk in the park, but I feel so proud of the progress I made. We finally took our first international trip with my little this Christmas and it gives me great hope that shes going to be a stellar world traveler like her mommy. I have tons of aspirations for 2025 and I can wait to smash them one by one! by @theopas555

I met Fran at a local artisan fair in Yorba Linda last month and I was blown away by all the amazing hand painted pet portraits she did with various dogs, cats, and birds. She is one of the sweetest and kindest ladies I’ve ever met and she asks little to nothing for the amazing art she makes with her loving hands. She does not have a social media presence but she does attend little local fairs when she could. If anyone wants a special piece of art to immortalize your fur baby forever, I would highly recommend you get a commission done by Fran! She is so communicative via phone and text, and was very fast with her turn around time. I gave her 2 pictures of my cats and asked her to overlap them, then we worked on what background colors would work best with their fur color. If you are local to Los Angeles, you can arrange for pick up, otherwise, she can arrange shipping for you. Please give her some love and support local artists!
