In honour of Youth Day, I’ve been reflecting on the three little people who’ve quietly shaped the woman and mother I’m still becoming.📍Save for when motherhood feels overwhelming.I never thought that being a mom of three little humans would teach me so much. This isn’t even all of which I’ve learned on this journey, but here are some of the key life lessons I can credit my kids for teaching me. My oldest taught me that consistency matters more than perfection. Because of Kai, I’ve become more patient, intentional and aware that our kids learn more from what we do than what we say.Kenzo taught me that every person experiences the world differently. He’s reminded me to replace comparison with curiosity, assumptions with compassion, and expectations with grace.Amaya is the most carefree ray of sunshine. She’s taught me that life can be whimsical. Sometimes the simplest celebrations end up being your favourite.📍Save as a reminder that you don’t need a big production to create beautiful memories.My hubby’s 40th birthday. Part 2 ❤️On @mlungukev’s actual birthday, it was just us. Gifts in bed before the kids could contain their excitement any longer. What they don’t tell you about surprise babies: they’ll keep surprising you 🤭📍Save for when you’re feeling emotional about how quickly your kids are growing up.Four years ago, this little girl made me a mama of three. Since then she’s kept us all on our toes with her big personality, strong opinions and endless love.Amaya is sharp, thoughtful, generous, affectionate, curious about absolutely everything and takes no nonsense especially from her big brothers. She’s also unashamedly a girly girl through and through. Give her a pretty dress, a cute hairstyle and a chance to twirl and she’s living her best life 🤣🥰Watching her grow into her own little person has been one of the greatest joys of my life.Happy 4th birthday to our sweet girl. Unpopular opinion: I have a favourite child.Don’t judge me (of course some of you will haha) but I have periods of having my favourite child. My mom also does, but she never admits it. I tease her often about it 🤣Of course I love them all equally but I LIKE one of them more than the others at any given time. But right now, I’m liking all of them so much 🥹From Kai’s sharp wit and insightful observations to Kenzo’s hidden sweet nature and incredible artistic skills to Amaya’s heart melting affection and strong confidence.
