You didn't build your org from a template. Don't run it on one either.

✨ Today, Crafted for Good is officially open! ✨

Software that shapes around your mission, not the other way around. It's one home for your whole organization, all connected, nothing entered twice.

Don't see the tool you need? We'll build it.

Three packages meet you wherever you are: Launch, Elevate, Strengthen. And real consulting support behind all of it, whenever you need it.

You dream it. We craft it.

This past weekend, I had a fantastic time working with these two to produce Short Films & Tall Boys Vol. 2 at Oakwood 83 (our home away from home - shout out to the Oakwood team ā¤ļø)!

Jerry is obviously the genius behind the event while Dan gave us amazing sound and helped make it possible for me to turn my two-screen dream into a reality.

Here's to these guys, the filmmakers and actors on a successful event with some of the best short films I've ever seen! taken in Oakwood 83 Restaurant & Lounge by @theoreticaleigh

Thankful for my life & my community ā¤ļø

For those of you who haven’t heard from me in a while, just know that I haven’t forgotten you. Unfortunately, I don’t have the social battery to keep up with all of the phenomenal humans in my life who I want to see/talk to. šŸ˜…

Sending all of you love & good vibes (especially with everything going on in the world right now) ā¤ļø taken in Chicago, Illinois by @theoreticaleigh

I have too many emotions at the moment to fully articulate how loved I feel after this weekend. These are only some of the people who showed up and I have so many other people who would have if they had been able to.

Here’s an excerpt from the speech I gave to give y’all more background on DPP:
ā€œThe truth is, I spent so long avoiding the pain of losing them that I blocked out most of the memories I had. Now, 20 years later, they feel like distant relatives I once met as a child.

And here’s the part I really want to say:
Not remembering didn’t just hurt…it kept me stuck.
I wasn’t grieving and I did everything possible to avoid it.
Like I was waiting for some emotional permission slip to start my life again.

I wonder how much sooner I could’ve moved forward if I had let myself feel the grief instead of running from it. If I had trusted that pain doesn’t swallow you forever…it moves if you move.

So here’s my hope:
Don’t do what I did.
Don’t shove the grief down so deep you lose the good memories with the painful ones.
Don’t let grief freeze you in place.
Make space for it. Let it be loud. Let it be awful. Let it pass through you.

Because the life that comes after is absolutely worth it.

Dead Parents Palooza is how I remember. It’s how I stay connected. It’s how I keep them alive in some way.

And on the 20th anniversary, I’m standing here:
Surrounded by family (chosen and surprise DNA plot-twist family)
Held by a community that shows up and laughs at my dark jokes
In my favorite city, Chicago
With my asshole cat, Tiny Rick
In remission from BPD after years of work
Creating art and experiences with people I love
Learning who I am…fully
And feeling like the most authentic version of myself I’ve ever been

If you told 13-year-old me that she would feel whole again, she wouldn’t have believed you. Not even a little.

But I do. I feel whole.

And that is because of all of you (friends, family, and my community)…for reminding me that grief is not the end. It sucks, yes. But it is not the end. There is so much more life to live. And I know my parents would want me living it exactly like this. Thank you for being here. Truly.ā€

Cheers to another year on earth with beautiful people and magical moments ā¤ļø

Life update:
Over the next one and a half months, I am taking medical leave to attend a group-based therapeutic program for folks with debilitating mental health symptoms.

Some days are really tough while others are wonderful. So, I’m taking it day by day.

I admit that I was a bit ashamed at first to need a higher level of care again for my mental health. However, after my first two weeks in the program, I can now say that it’s very much worth it, and I can’t wait to see how much I will have learned by the end.

I’m thankful, as always, for the wonderful and supportive people in my life (many of whom are not in this video because I don’t have any videos with them – I’m looking at you, Deanna 🤨)!

Wishing you all a wonderful summer, and make sure you take care of yourselves ā¤ļø

āš ļøTrigger Warning: Suicidal Ideation

Two years ago, I was in such a bad place mentally and I was ready to end everything. I wish I could say I’m 100% better but that would be far from the truth.

Unfortunately, I still struggle…a lot…but these people (plus many others not in the video including my aunts ā¤ļø) keep me going. I’m so grateful for the love that surrounds me (from around the world) and the experiences I’ve been able to have.

Here’s to another year of making memories & keeping up the fight ā¤ļø
