After struggling with concussion symptoms and setbacks for the better part of the last 2 years, unfortunately It’s time for me to retire from the game of rugby. I still have the desire to play on the world stage and the itch to get up and train with my teammates every day but I need to take care of my body do what’s right for my health moving forward.

As I look back on my career I’m proud of all I have achieved, I’ve represented Canada in 15’s and 7’s, been to a World Cup and competed at the Olympics. Yet I’m most grateful for the people who’ve supported me along the way. My friends and family who’ve travelled across the world and stayed up all night to cheer me on. My coaches who taught me the ins and outs of the game and how to enjoy it. And my teammates, many of whom are now lifelong friends that have made the daily grind so much fun and worthwhile, while pushing to make me better along the way. All these people made my career what it is and my only regret is that i couldn’t ride it out a little longer.

Looking forward to cheering on the next generation of rugby in Canada and seeing what’s next for me.
Peace for now ✌️ by @theosauder

Honoured to be able to represent my country and live out my dream with this special group of guys. The outpour of support from back home was amazing and had me feeling truly proud to be Canadian taken in Tokyo Olympic Stadium by @theosauder

#tokyo2020olympics bound with this special group of guys.

It’s been a long journey with lots of ups and downs, injuries, good games and bad ones, but the real hard work starts when we get there.

I couldn’t have done it without the endless support from family and friends, especially my parents who’ve been there since day 1❤️🇨🇦 taken in Canada by @theosauder
