Theo Parrish (@soundsignature)
Oakland, CA
April 19, 2026

It was a dream and a scheme to photograph Theo Parrish in Oakland this spring. To me he is one of the ultimate creative spirits. Got to snap a couple portraits while setting up for his 7-hour set at the @aylisf / @unabridgedlive Backyard BBQ, and later he sent voiceover for the last video. Thank you for everything Theo @soundsignature

Massive shoutout to @mrbispo for making it all happen by @theoschear

SURROUND SOUND: A Conversation with Suzanne Ciani for @heartbeat_mag

“Diva of the Diode” Suzanne Ciani (@sevwave) is a five-time Grammy nominated musician known for both classical piano and quadraphonic (surround sound) electronic compositions. She is also the creator of the Coke bottle sound along with many other recognizable sound logos, and was the first woman to score a Hollywood film with Lily Tomlin’s “The Incredible Shrinking Woman” in 1981.

For Heartbeat Magazine’s first issue, Suzanne discusses her experience in the vanguard of electronic music, the relationship between music and space, and the sounds she’s living in today.

The magazine is print-only and can be purchased at broccolimag.com or their stockists world-wide. Many thanks to editor @evencleveland for expertly coalescing the interview with eloquence and beautiful design, and to @travis_fairclough for culling the wandering two-hour conversation into digestible form. by @theoschear
