Spent the last three years working really hard at telling jokes on stage and paying off my credit card debt. One of these is the hardest thing I’ve ever done and the other is stand up comedy.

Week 25! Relentless but rewarding southern Maine mountains and some of the silliest times entertaining ourselves. What a week! Grafton Notch to Crocker Cirque 1930.5-2002.2
-Lots of midday or afternoon canoe breaks (people just leave canoes for public use on lakes in Maine)
-Climbed Baldplates (LOVE)
-More summit top reunions!
-Stayed at the Om Dome
-Did a Sound Bath and a group foot soak
-Surprised everyone with toy cars !!!
-Camping zero at South Arm Campground with cars and Outlaw’s new KPop Demon Hunters karaoke mic which has the weirdest sound affects
-Lots of stops on Internet Mountain™️
-Made a spirit tunnel for section hikers finishing up their day hike
-Hit the cribbage double privy (“Your Move” is a p threatening thing to put on a toilet no?)
-Ate wild blueberries on Bemis Mtn
-VIEWS VIEWS VIEWS
-Climbed up and over the Saddlebacks on yet another perfect day
-Hair is reaching levels of Middle School Lax Bro when I wear my headband
-Little Whoville style ponytails for shaved head girlies
-Passed the mile marker of my birth year
-2000 mile marker!!!!!
-Camped at a site that felt haunted but we were okay
-Looked for moose at Crocker Cirque but the real moose were the Instagram stories we made along the way
-Meatball trail magic from Riff Raff
-Camped all in a row and watched King of the Hill
-Colored mermaids at dinner in Rangeley
-Singe fell in a creek
-Lots of unique ladders and rebar to get us up and over these straight vertical climbs
-Played hookey in Rangeley for the day with @elaine.hopkinss
-Got more commentary from my hater Jerry (mama I’ve made it) taken in Appalachian Trail Maine by @theparrishm

Week 24! Nauman Tentsite, NH to Grafton Notch, ME! 1858.6-1930.5. Finished out the Whites in NH and crossed our final border!
-Had a perfect day starting our tour of the Prezies
-Flew from Mt Pierce to Lake of the Clouds Hut by midday and decided to slackpack up Mt Washington since the weather was perfect and we had time!
-Loved Mt Eisenhower!! Mostly loved climbing these summits with Loon & Singe and feeling so strong and also extremely giggly
-Listened to the Hamilton soundtrack up Washington (a requirement)
-Spent time with Mosey at Lakes of the Clouds Hut!
-Caught one of our best sunsets of trail (& life?) at the hut with some of the Binguses
-Brewski coined the phrase “we got to do stars tonight”
-Hated the second half of the prezies and the descent off Mt Madison is dead to me forever
-Took my infamous crying Oreo pic when we couldn’t get a hitch and ended up roadwalking
-Had an awesome Airbnb stay with Singe’s family
-Listened to High School Musical up the Wildcats (detour)
-Listened to Beyoncé over the Carters
-Did a LOT of butt sliding down the steep and wet trail
-Singe and I watched Hacks at the Imp Shelter
-Spilled my full bag of M&M’s. Life be like that sometimes
-Climbed Mt Moriah and recorded a video performing “AT Party” for Grandpa JoJo Party Girl
-Ran into the ice cream man twice!!
-1900 miles!
-Had an incredible visit with a friend I met in the Dolomites last year and his wife! We made dinner and Strider made apple pie from scratch!
-Jon told us a Katahdin story for the ages that we quoted the rest of trail
-Jon gave us his car and I drove us back to trail though we considered stealing it and driving straight to Mama K
-Did NOT get to cross a river on a little cable car
-Climbed Mt Success (Take that Dad!)
-Crossed into MAINE!!!
-Double rainbow our first day in Maine
-These mountains are BEGGING to not be climbed! They are so hard and have so many ladders and rungs and such
-Made it through Mahoosuc Notch—the hardest/longest mile on the AT (you’re gonna want to do this sober, trust) without even leapfrogging each other and also right after retwisting my ankle
-My friends took care of me when I didn’t get a job I really wanted. Love em taken in White Mountain National Forest by @theparrishm

Week 23. Kinsman’s to Nauman Tentsite. 1824.7-1858.6. We’re really in it now!! Hiking in the Whites means biiiig days all while dropping miles. Not to brag but we had perfect weather in the Whites and the first half was a dream. A difficult and physically demanding dream with so many good people all around us and many laughs.
-Hiked up the Waterfall Trail to Franconia Ridge with @biancasophia1
-Franconia was so beautiful and cool and unlike anything we’ve done yet! We’re in the Alpine zone! It’s so exciting to see where you’re going and how far you’ve come when walking above the treeline
-Fell in love with Honey Mustard Pringles
-Had crazy wind gusts on Franconia which blew me down a few times but could’ve been much worse!
-Reunited with @thesethharper_ on top of Lil Haystack
-Sang “Franconia” to the tune of “Genovia” from Princess Diaries
-On top of Mt Garfield, ran into @dana.wolf.25 who is doing a Yo-yo of the whole AT on her way back down to Georgia where we first met back in March! Go Sniper!
-Got my thru hiker pass for White Mountains camping and stayed in some beautiful mouse free shelters
-Watched all kinds of lovely sunsets, sunrises, and stars
-Got “Breathe” by Faith Hill stuck in my head out of nowhere on South Twin Mtn (and it remained there the rest of my hike and beyond)
-Had many a bowl of soup and baked good passing through AMC huts midday
-Found Singe’s original logbook entry at Zealand Hut where she first dreamt of thru hiking 🥲
-Read a friend’s really moving memoir throughout my time in the Whites
-Did a work for stay at Zealand Hut with @mayasdirtbagdiaries & Mariner (dream team?)
-Hiked 5 extra miles to be picked up by Singe’s amazing friend for lunch and more Super Secret Ice cream. Like being checked out of school by your cool big sister for lunch
-Zeroed at the AMC Highland Center and reunited with @megg_carlin !! And the rest of the Binguses
-Had a job interview that went well but ultimately not well enough
-Cowboy camped at Nauman Campsite and watched the Milky Way move across the sky taken in Franconia Ridge by @theparrishm

Week 22! This week was a dream. Full of excitement and surprises and reunions and magic. 1726-1824.7
-Woke up to catch the sunrise over the White Mountains from the Lookout
-Did a pretty roadwalk passing gorgeous Vermont gardens and houses to get Abracadabra Coffee and have one of the best donuts of my life
-Stayed at trail angel Linda’s house and saved a man’s life lowkey against our will
-Learned a lot from the iconic AT animal guide in Norwich, VT
-Got free deli sandwiches in Norwich
-Crossed into NH!!! Singe’s home and our penultimate state!
-Immediately jumped into the river at the Dartmouth dock
-Walked around Hanover; stole a cookie from the Dartmouth dining hall; got free pizza and pastries for hikers in town; had some of the best ice cream on trail at Red Kite Candy
-Watched the Housecleaning Olympics on ESPN 8: The Ocho and saw a sign that said “Ouchtown Population YOU”
-Stayed with Singe’s friend Jed (a NH climbing legend)
-Slackpacked over Velvet Rocks and stayed with Singe’s friend’s family and their precious dogs
-Hiked Smarts Mountain & Cube Mountain
-Loon and I had Hexacuba Gooding Jr Shelter all to ourselves and had a blast
-Great signage in NH
-Had a peaceful and perfect mid trail solo swim in Wachipauka Pond
-Crossed the 1800 mile marker!
-Took a zero to stay at Singe’s house in NH! Which included a lake day with her friends
-Climbed Mt Moosilauke! Our first alpine zone mountain in the iconic (and intimidating) White Mountain range
-Reunited with the Binguses on top of Moosilauke! When I summited they were all sitting there singing “you’re a bear and I’m a girllll” to me (song of the summer written by yours truly)
-Descended Moosilauke with all of our friends and got a preview at what all the ascents and descents would be for the next month—steep and rocky and relentless
-Stayed at The Notch hostel and got selected to have a pan pasta dinner with Burgeon outdoors! One of the best meals on trail and so much fun!
-Got scooped up from dinner and taken to Super Secret Ice Cream which is my new favorite ice cream spot that Singe has appropriately hyped up for 1750 miles
-TMZ photos of a Pringle pass off
-Slackpacked the Kinsmen’s taken in Mount Moosilauke by @theparrishm

Week 21 pt 2! Clarendon Shelter to the Lookout 1692 to 1726! Our Vermont experience did turn around for the better towards the end of the week but it was still bumpy and felt endless and it was hard to bounce back from being scarred from the first few days.
-Visited the best farnstand of trail! Sat amongst the gorgeous flowers, drank fancy VT drinks, and watched the clouds move and change around us
-Made it to 500 miles left sign!! Ahh!!!
-Solved Loon’s murder on Killington (don’t txt) which entered us into our Nancy Drew era (solving crimes on trail)
-1700 mile marker!
-More rain up and over Killington
-Cozy little cabin shelter stay with the best sunrise!
-Ordered McDonald’s breakfast delivery to the Inn at Long Trail while we passed through for a pick me up
-Said goodbye to Long Trail (good riddance) where it splits from the AT and things got better
-Treated ourselves (unexpectedly) to a stay at Mountain Meadows Lodge where we kayaked Kent Pond and ordered sushi and watched tv and enjoyed the sauna and hot tub and saw a bear!
-Found the infamous ladder in the woods
-Enjoyed amazing trail magic from Jeff + Nancy complete with Vermont beer, bacon and cheese burgers, and free Darn Tough socks!
-Enjoyed Crème Brûlée watching the sunset from the tower on the Lookout shelter! Amazing! It was our first look at the White Mountains in NH!
-Got up early to watch the sunrise from the same spot! taken in Appalachian Trail Vermont by @theparrishm

Week 21 pt 1 because this week was long and very photogenic. Early Vermont was a struggle. Crazy rain turned Vermont into not just Vermud but Rivermont. The endless puddles made the trail really frustrating and I think I got a late onset case of Virginia Blues. It was comforting that everyone was feeling it around me too and we all trauma bonded through early Vermont together. Still! We giggled through it and Dad came to visit providing lots of trail magic for Loon, Singe, myself, and others! Bennington to Clarendon Shelter 1618-1692.
-Wet endless puddle river trail and underwater bog boards that SOAKED our feet
-Scary river crossings made better by all your friends waiting on the other side
-Trail Magic from Dad at the end of a looong day
-Dad did a 21.7 mile day with us (!!!!) up Stratton Mountain and beyond. By mile 19 he said “if a bear were to come out of the woods and eat me, I’d be happier about it than the bear.”
-Took the ski lift down to Stratton Village for ice cream (duh)
-Climbed the Stratton Mountain Fire Tower
-Crossed the 3/4ths mark!!
-Played Wii at the Airbnb
-Had a dryer day with pretty terrain
-Took a zero where we saw the Odyssey. Dad’s review? “That was a sweet little love story.”
-Two of Singe’s friends dayhiked with us and brought homemade pizza and huge ice cream sandwiches!
-Midday naps
-Blown away by Clarendon Gorge
-Camped at a shelter with a group of young camp kids who were sweet and curious and funny taken in Stratton Mountain, Vermont by @theparrishm

Week 20! (!!!) Sheffield, MA to Bennington, VT! 1526.6-1618.6
-Did a 27 mile day in MA!! Felt amazing and strong!
-Tried trail running and stopped trail running by falling
-Camped at Upper Goose Pond cabin and met a lovely and hilarious little family
-Woke up at 4am to hike two miles to catch a shuttle to catch a train to go celebrate @vpileggi_ & @bradi
-Beautiful hiking in MA (one of my fav states on trail)
-Several unconventional but helpful trail signs
-Packed in a lot of favorite stops in Philly including @anthro_philadelphia with full pack
-Back to hike to the Northern Cookie Lady in MA before jumping up a few miles to reconnect with Singe
-Mount Greylock summit
-Hiked right into town after about 20 miles on new shoes that I hated and switched them out to Altras again
-Hiked into Vermont!
-Escaped (sort of) a big storm in Bennington and hid out at the Catamount Motel taken in The Berkshires by @theparrishm

Week 19! One of my favs! Nobody pinch me: we walked to New England!! NY Palisades to Sheffield, MA! 1402.5-1528.5
-Got to stay another night with our guardian angel/trail angel Ellie along with @fam4outdoors
-Celebrated 1400 miles with cake and ice cream, the best tradition of @fam4outdoors
-Had our last day of bad smoke over the Bear Mountain Bridge and walking through the Trailside Zoo (mostly information about plants)
-Loved hiking Bear Mountain even without the views
-Had a few rainy days of slackpacking while staying at Curry Estate and watching Hacks in the hotel with Singe
-Did a sketchy road walk and exchanged voice memos with Loon who was further up the trail trying to get ahead before getting off for a wedding
-More swimming lakes in the day!
-DC Malaysian food truck right off trail in Pawling, NY was THE BEST
-Crossed into CT with Singe and McMurphy and were immediately met with bacon, egg, and cheese and 9am Yuengling trail magic!
-Emily & Brooklynn joined me to hike CT and celebrate Brooklynn’s bachelorette in the woods!
-Open air privy 🫶
-Walked through cute CT towns and loved the homes and gardens!
-So nice of the seniors of this school to decorate their parking spot for us, the AT Class of 2026
-Got emotional at the 700 to Katahdin sign!!!!
-Passed 1500 miles!
-Got extra pastries from Off the Trail Cafe in Falls Village!
-Sang “you made a mess, I was the janitor” upwards of 1,000 times
-Got rescued from a tornado watch weather and got to stay with @lydsimon’s lovely parents in MA
-Crossed into MA!!!

Week 18 shown in backwards order. NYC to Oregon back to trail! Warwick, NY to Palisades Parkway. 1361.4-1402.5

-Quick visit to Bend, OR (hello PCT) with my Philmont girls to celebrate @lillianklein1 & @permabonk who did SO GOOD at getting married
-One last NYC dinner with @leah.wski & @anna.gallagher_7
-Took my cousin’s son on his first overnight backpacking trip! 15 miles! So impressed with him! Thank you @amandablair4 & Graham for trusting me with your kid!
-Crossed officially into NY and left NJ behind!
-Saw two bears including my closest encounter (spoiler, I got eaten after the video cuts off)
-Crossed paths once more with @penjamin_on_the_at
-Had ice cream at Bellvale Creamery and reunited with Singe!
-Lots of fun rock scrambles and also magical forest walks in NY
-Passed swimming lakes and picnic areas
-Met the most cool and lovely and generous trail angel, Ellie, who took us in and hosted us two nights during the peak of the Canadian wildfire smoke
-Watched fireworks over the Hudson at Ellie’s house while enjoying girl dinner
-So many wild berries to eat! No need to pack snacks!
-Canadian Wildfires brought insane smoke which meant we did not get the views we anticipated of NYC which can normally be seen on a clear day
-Crossed 1400 miles! taken in Harriman State Park by @theparrishm
