Efterårsjævndøgn nærmer sig og dermed endnu en lejlighed til at fejre Det Berømte Pæretræ i Patchworkskoven 🍐 (English version in the comments)

Denne gang inviterer vi til pærevælling og sammenskudsgilde i høstens gavmilde ånd. Som en lille overraskelse har Det Berømte Pæretræ valgt ikke at lade sig definere ud fra sine frugter i år og har valgt ikke lave nogen pærer, men det er okay, for vi sætter pris på træet for så meget mere end dets frugter!

Mange kender måske pærevælling som et begreb for en rodet sammenblanding af ting, men det er også en påskønnet egnsret fra Lolland og Falster. Vi vil tilberede den over bål og servere den varm

Eventen vil i sig selv også være en pærevælling i ordets anden betydning og bliver et sammenskudsgilde af hvad folk har lyst til at byde ind med. En stor tak til de ildsjæle og kunstnere som allerede har budt ind med følgende: (Listen opdateres løbende)

HVAD ER DET BERØMTE PÆRETRÆ OG PATCHWORKSKOVEN?
Hvis du ikke før har hørt om Det Berømte Pæretræ, så er det et meget afholdt pæretræ som vokser i Patchworkskoven på Stavreby Strandvej 2, 4874 Gedser. Patchworkskoven blev startet i 2023 af kunstner Stine Linnemann med støtte fra Guldborgsund Kommune. Det en lille kunstskov og evigt foranderligt landart værk som agerer helle for biodiversitet og kreativitet på hvad der før var en nedrivningsgrund.

Kom og vær med til at skyde Et Pærens År igang i Patchworkskoven! 🍐 (English below)

Vi holder en forårsceremoni for Det Berømte Pæretræ, som vi sammen fejrer med et forårsritual. Derefter vil Falster-ildsjæl og journalist @oliver_stilling holde en tale for træet.

Efter ceremonien vil der være bål, varm kakao og skumfiduser, så længe der er stemning for det.
Arrangementet er gratis og åbent for alle slags skabninger i alle aldre.

Hvornår? Forårsjævndøgn fredag d. 20. marts 2026 kl. 16:30

Come and kick off the Year of the Pear in Patchworkskoven! 🍐

We will hold a spring ceremony for The Famous Pear Tree, which we will celebrate together with a spring ritual. Afterwards, Falster-enthusiast and journalist Oliver Stilling will give a speech for the tree.

After the ceremony, there will be a bonfire, hot cocoa and marshmallows, as long as the mood is right.

The event is free and open to all kinds of creatures of all ages.

Where? In Patchworkskoven at Stavreby Strandvej 2, 4874 Gedser, Denmark

When? Spring equinox Friday, March 20, 2026 at 4:30 PM

Celebrating the autumn equinox with The Famous Pear Tree in @thepatchworkforest was quite the treat! We took part in the local traditional of having hot pear porridge (pærevælling) and we were also treated to a very special modern savory pear concoction by the talented Johanne from @lillehavn_ 🥰 @oliver_stilling gave a lovely speech and I read a sonet inspired by the famous tree written by my friend @rikke_prikke91 for the occasion. The Famous Pear Tree didn't fancy making us any pears this year, but @adamadamfenton came to the rescue, supplying us with lots of yummy pears from the neighbouring island of Lolland 🍐🍐🍐

It was a very special moment for me, feeling like after three years of stewardship of this little piece of land on Falster, it has finally started to truly become a place that people appreciate and feel a connection to. A huge thanks to everyone who came for this fall celebration as well as all the other folk who have contributed in some way, big or small, these past few years 🤍

If you want to support The Famous Pear Tree from afar, remember you can always leave a letter for it via Googlemaps, just search for its name and leave a review. It is especially enjoying its streak of purely 5 star ratings, beating its local tree celebrity rival The Valdemar Oak Trees's score 🙃

Thanks to everyone who came to picnic with The Famous Pear Tree in @thepatchworkforest this weekend 🍐🍐🍐 I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate summer solstice than with all of you 🤍🌳 It was a day of pear themed picnic blankets made for the occasion, lots of snacking and blowing bubbles 🌼🫧☀️ Finally we had fun making a "Everyone can be a pear tree" installation with bunch of beautiful pear art made by the kids at Søruphus Forest Kindergarten 🎨

Thank you to Guldborgsund Kommune and their Art Council for making this all possible 🙏

Tak til alle, der kom til picnic med Det Berømte Pæretræ i Patchworkskoven denne weekend 🍐🍐🍐 Jeg kunne ikke forestille mig en bedre måde at fejre sommersolhverv på end sammen med jer 🤍🌳 Det var en dag med Pære Picnictæpper lavet til lejligheden og masser af snacks og bobler 🌼🫧☀️ Til sidst hyggede vi os med at lave en "Alle kan være et pæretræ"-installation med en smukke pærekunstværker lavet af børnene i Søruphus Skovbørnehave 🎨

The Famous Pear Tree meets the next generation 🌱🌱🌱

Back in April I got to spend a week with cutest kids at Søruphus Forest Kindergarten. On the first day I told them all about The Famous Pear Tree and then I made us some yummy cakes using pears from the famous treee, that I had been saving in my freezer all winter. The next day we went by bus to visit The Famous Pear Tree in @thepatchworkforest and we had a great time playing and dancing all around it.

The rest of the week we spent colouring sooo many pears! It was so much fun getting to spend time drawing with the children and by the end of the week, I created a little exhibition of their pear art all through-out the kindergarten. A big thanks to everyone at Søruphus who took part in my latest pear shenanigans and thanks to Guldborgsund municipal for the funding to make this adventure possible 💚

In the time since my visit, I have meticulously cut out and laminated the many pears that we drew, so we can use them as part of the next celebration of The Famous Pear Tree this coming weekend. Come join us for a summer solstice celebration and Pear Picnic on Sunday the 21st of June from 1 pm - 5 pm in The Patchwork Forest on Stavreby Strandvej 2, 4874 Gedser. The fantastical pears will be used in a workshop called "Everyone can be a pear tree", where everyone and everything can become a pear tree for a while by wearing them. Hope to see you there! For a brief moment we hit the front page of local Falster news, which is no small feat on the evening before a national election 🙌

But then again, it IS after all The Famous Pear Tree. It wouldn't have it any other way 🎥✨🌳✨📸

Vejrudsigten siger sol og 8 grader, så husk at tage varmt tøj på - og så kan vi heldigvis få varmen om bålet med varm kakao og skumfiduser efter ceremonien ☀️🔥

Prepper til arbejdsdag i Patchworkskoven i morgen 💪 Vi skal lave lidt landscaping for at gøre klar til forårsceremonien for Det Berømte Pæretræ 🍐

Der skal laves stier med barkflis og installeres hegn og ikke mindst skal Det Berømte Pæretræ have en lille trimning for vildskud 🪚🪜🪏
