In this age of AI music and 250 takes to post a video of a perfect 20 second guitar solo (which I too am guilty of), I think it’s ever more important to show honesty and imperfections, as it’s all part of the HUMAN process of growth! 💪
So, I’m hoping to start sharing more of my imperfect journey as I work to grow as a musician in all of the eclectic styles of music that I love.
🫣🤘

Here is a clip from a show the other night with my dear friend and musical partner Dave Gross.
Dave is an absolutely incredible musician and producer, and he has challenged me through the 10 years we’ve been friends to be better in so many ways. Most notably, he has pushed me in a style that I love, but never thought I’d be able to play, Gypsy Jazz.
Dave could play with anyone, as you’ll see here in the video.. but the fact that he chooses to play with me and believes in me enough as a musician to grow to meet his level means the world to me, and makes me WORK.
🤓 🎸 📚 ☕️

I’m proud of myself for the work I’ve put in to get to a point with this style of music where I feel like I can hang and contribute, bring my own voice to the music but also honor the style and tradition. Still a ton of work to do and a long way to go with this style, as with all of the styles I love and want to play, but this is me in the process, trying to hang on for dear life with Dave! 😳😮‍💨😜

Btw - Dave and I are in the process of making a Duo album together of tunes from all corners of our musical tastes and influences. This is a tune Dave wrote called “Chasing Your Tail”, which will be available on our album when it is released! Stay tuned! 😉 🎧 #gypsyjazz #swing #manoucheguitar #challengeyourself #learning taken in Canandaigua (city), New York by @thepatharrington

What a lovely weekend of music and family time it was. Got to celebrate my Dad and Sisters bday with my fam, got to go watch my cousin @sheeeeeeeeny slay it at @electriccitybuffalo on his new gig as lead guitarist for @tropidelic , went on a lovely autumn walk with my Mom in my hometown #gasportny , got to rock out a set of originals and a set of Allman Bros tunes to an attentive sellout audience in the beautiful #taylortheater with my Trio (badasses Paul L Yates and Owen Eichensehr), and then played a fun Duo gig with my bro @oeichensehr at @birdseyehollow distillery where we got tipped in bottles of Maple Bourbon. 😋 🥃
Can’t beat that! 👌
Shoutout to Michael Cardillo! 🙌
Feeling very grateful leading into the Holidays this year. Many good things in the works, including alot of writing and recording. Very excited. Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
🙏🦃🍽️🥧🍂🍁😌

PS longer video of my “Elizabeth Reed” solo on my facebook page! 😜

Still recovering from what was an absolutely epic @legendarybluescruise . Every musician was ridiculous, and the hangs were on another level fun. One of my fav bands on the boat was The @deannabogartmusic Band, which featured The @ericscottmusic Band backing up Deanna. They were all killer, and their guitarist @danleonardguitar blew me away. I’m an absolute fan boy of Dan! Taste, tone, harmonic sophistication and so well rounded in all the styles I love. One of my favs!
I had to have this line he played that I captured on video on Eric’s tune “Get Up”, which has been nonstop in my head since we disembarked.
Really killer 3-6-2-5 line that Dan superimposes against a 1-4 vamp. Swipe left to see the man himself doing it! I think I almost got it? 🧐
Oh, and swipe left again to see the only pic I took of myself on the cruise. 😆 👟 🌊 🌞
See yall in January for #lrbc44 ! 🚢
