Gas is high. Rent is high. Storms and disasters at an all time high. The system that’s supposed to take care of us is being rigged by billionaires and their political allies and we’re left carrying the costs.

It doesn’t have to be this way. Let’s start by taking care of each other so we can take on these systems together.

On Monday, we posted up at the Phillips 66 Crown Food Mart and gave free gas to about 185 people!

The cost of gas, and everything else, is way too high.

The system feels rigged — because it is. Billionaires and corporations have used their power and influence to make the economy work for them, not us.

It doesn’t have to be this way. We can fight for what we need and deserve, and show up for each other to meet our needs today.

“Everybody Eats” Free Gas Takeover

In comradeship with @smiletrustinc x @thepeoples.table distributed approximately 100 gas stipends directly to community members.

This is what collective work looks like: showing up, sharing resources, building relationships, and making sure our people feel the impact.

During the activation, community members also signed the Brownsville FOREVER petition to help protect the neighborhood’s identity, culture, and future. We checked voter registration statuses and helped residents register so their voices can shape the decisions affecting their communities.

Salute to everyone who pulled up, supported the activation, engaged our neighbors, signed the petition, checked their registration, registered to vote, and helped move resources with purpose.

When we build together, everybody eats. 🖤✊🏾

LIBERTY CITY+BROWNSVILLE, WE OUTSIDE. ✊🏾

Today, alongside Smile Trust + People’s Table, we turned a local gas station into a space for community care AND collective power.

$25 gas vouchers. Resources. Petition signatures. Voter registration. But most importantly conversations, relationships, and trust.

Because base building ain’t always about bringing people to us. Sometimes the work is going to where our people already are.

At the pump. In the neighborhood. On the block.

Service opens the door. Relationships build the base. Collective action builds power.

📣 THE PEOPLE’S TABLE: COMING SOON TO A CITY NEAR YOU.

As the holidays approach, millions of families will be gathering around empty tables as our government still withholds critical food assistance that people rely on to eat—while sending billions to genocide, war, and militarism.

But we won’t let our communities go hungry.
We’re leaning in by joining The People’s Table, a growing network of organizations across the country defending, protecting, and feeding our people. Together, we make sure everybody eats.

While our government abandons us, we’ll be setting up food distribution sites in cities across the U.S. to make sure families get fed and find community. But this isn’t just about food distribution, it’s also about holding our governments accountable — their role is to take care of our communities, not harm us.

We have more than enough money and resources to feed everyone, during the holidays and every day.

The Trump administration is messing with the resources so many of us depend on to keep our families fed; programs that our tax dollars pay for. No families, whether chosen or blood, should go hungry this holiday season or any other day. As trans, queer and Two Spirit youth continue to create supportive spaces for each other to thrive, our mutual aid efforts are an extension of building up those same beloved communities. We’re showing up by defending, protecting, and feeding our people. Together, we make sure that at The People’s Table, everyone eats!

In partnership with @rising_majority & @smiletrustinc, we’re hosting a mutual aid pop-up this Friday, December 5th & next Friday, December 12th at Cass Park in Detroit! We’re providing free snacks, diapers, free produce, hygiene products, hand warmers and more (while supplies last). Help us get the word out!
