FINAL DECISION MADE!!! OFFICIAL EDITING DECISION MADE! I have officially chosen an editor for The Perception Saga. She offered a quote $800 over budget, but I was so incredibly moved by her enthusiasm and desire to support this project that I couldn't deny her offer. Plus, being the editor responsible for The Hunger Games trilogy and prequel, and other well-known children's and young adult work, she has a proven track record of success in the publishing industry. Her quote, including service fees from the site I found her on, is $4,100. She will be splitting the cost into three monthly payments. That means, our first official goal is $1,700! Believe it or not, almost a fifth of this goal has been reached. We can do it! Don't wait! The first installment is due September 22nd! Also, moving forward, all donors will receive a free pdf copy of Perception in their thank you email upon registering for updates. If you are interested in donating, dm me and I will send you the link to the @gofundme! Don't forget to like and share this post to friends who can help! Thank you for all the support! #gofundme #gofundmedonations #writers #readers #fantasybooks #bookstagram #booksbooksbooks #romancebooks #romancereader #fantasyreader #readersofinstagram #donate by @theperceptionsaga

MAJOR UPDATE: I HAVE REACHED OUT TO SIX HIGH-PROFILE EDITORS! (including the one who edited The Hunger Games) I have officially sent a request to 6 editors(5 on Reedsy), detailing my vision for the book and my current budget. Currently, with social security funds and gofundme donations combined, I have about $800 out of the $3,000 budget I listed(excluding any unexpected expenses that may come during the month). It is highly likely that the editors will respond with their quotes and more information between now and next week about what they offer. I will continue to inform you about the entire process, frequently updating as I receive each response and price. Once I have decided the editor, I will revise the goal to reflect its true final price, if we haven't reached it by the time I make my decision. Currently, one of the six have responded and given me a sample edit regarding my work. He charges 0.026 per word. For an 82,000-word manuscript, this is around $2,100. He is promising but I am looking into other vetted options to cover all my bases and choose the best fit for my book and writing style. Please continue to donate and share the gofundme. Each passing day, the need for this money becomes more urgent, especially as editors begin to respond and look into my work. Thank you all for your continued support! (P.S. Stay tuned for a lighthearted bookish post) #writing #reading #readersofinstagram #writerscommunity #gofundme #donate #update #publishing #fundraiser #bookworm #bookstagram by @theperceptionsaga

So far I have raised $215 towards funding Perception. I want to thank you all for the support and donations I have received. This is my first gofund.me and I was not expecting to receive this kind of support. With this, I wanted to post an update regarding how I am going to proceed with The Perception Saga. I have made the decision to pursue traditional publishing for the series. I understand that it is difficult to submit a previously self-published work to a traditional publisher, but it's not impossible and I believe it is the best option for me and the series as a whole. To give myself the best possible chances of getting agented/published, I have taken Perception off the market. Your contribution to the gofund.me will help pay for the editing services that are vital to putting my manuscript in the best shape possible when I begin querying agents. If you cannot donate, if anyone has connections to agents that might be a good fit for the book, let me know! Please share with as many people as you can! #writing #reading #bookstagram #gofundme #bookworm #fantasy #donate #publishing #writerscommunity #romancebooks #teenwriters #update by @theperceptionsaga

I'm back for good this time and will be posting more regularly, but as I post more often, I wanted to give you the chance to help fund the success of my current series in progress. If you enjoy my content, or have read some of my work, considering donating $10. Every little bit helps! https://gofund.me/432bdfb5 by @theperceptionsaga
