🪄It's Readathon time again...🪄

I'm not sure what year we're on since I started making the readathon to celebrate @losetimereading birthday but it's that time again.

This year the theme is Potions Master, there are 7 potions with varying amounts of ingredients(prompts) for each. I'm doing Veritaserum and Invigoration Draught potions for 4 books total.

We will see if I change them up over the next 3 weeks, but I'm feeling pretty good about 3 of the 4 choices for sure.

👋🏻 Howdy,

I changed my username from ReadingSlumpQueen to ThePeriodicReader, so I thought I should make a post.

And since I have no book to post, you get a snippet of me and Amelia in the Fall ❤️

I have not been reading... I've surpassed slump level months ago. We've been enjoying our days buzzing around with Miss Amelia who is 16 months old now.
I mean technically, technically speaking I am reading because I'm doing the Bible in a Year podcast everyday, but do we count that? I don't. It's just my weird mood reading taking me on a ride, and we shall speak no more about it 😂

I do have some goals for my reading this year, since we're now in a new year eekk...I want to read 10 books by the end - all from my TBR. No book buying for me this year!

This post is a bit of a jumble but very much like my brain right now.

Bookish Haul!

I made a quick trip home to NS last week and while I was gone my order from @just.inspired.shop arrived ❤️

I love bookmarks and I feel like I never have enough, I love these! Now I need to start a few new books so I can put them to use haha

My reading has been absolutely abysmal lately, I'd love to cuddle up with a hot chocolate and a book but we will see if that happens!

Today is the best fall vibes day it's cold, I got my new cozy slippers, it's October and I'm starting the Haunted Hogsmeade readathon with a fun group today!

I had to stretch a prompt to make this book fit ish, but I am so excited for this read I don't care haha, I made the prompts after all.

I also have this book on audio so I'm confident I'll be starting book two tomorrow or Tuesday 💃🏻

Bookmail! 📚

I missed this release back in Feb 2024 unfortunately, Yangsze Choo is one of my favourite authors. I loved The Night Tiger and The Ghost Bride! She also narrates her own books, love the audiobook editions as well!

📚Bookish Mail📚

It's a rainy reading kind of day here and I have some book mail to share!

A couple days ago my preorder of the The Nightshade God by Hannah Whitten was delivered. I'm so excited to continue this trilogy, I loved the first book!

Today I got this beautiful bookmark from @lk.artisan , I have the Evangeline. It's beautiful, I can't wait to use it in my next read ♥️ I'm always a sucker for a pretty bookmark and I never seem to have enough

Today is the start of a mini Readathon a group of us are doing, Greenhouse Three is the theme. I love a Readathon, it's a fun way to try and read as much as I can and get me back into reading from a slump.

I'm doing four prompts of six, the first one I'm tackling is; Dittany - A book that soothes the soul (stress relief reading).

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was the perfect choice for this prompt as this series is such a comfort read for me. I have never reread this book, I last read it around 2003 I believe when it was released. I am loving it and its narration, Stephen Fry is phenomenal!

I am on my second book of the week and am currently nap trapped reading Kingdom of the Feared I'm 80% finished and I love it... here's hoping for a not disappointing ending and finishing the book today 🤞🏻

Hello!

I had great intentions of posting more this year and now it's June, I officially have a 9 month old and I haven't read an effing thing.

Well, I've read lots of children's books. If your looking for recommendations I have loads of those 😂

This is also what my book stacks look like now apparently. But I really think the baby limbs adds to the photo. If you're wondering her favourite to grab was Kingdom of the Cursed... perhaps that'll be the first book I finish this summer...#babypickedmyread

There is one or two more I have to read/finish but I seem to have forgotten where I put those...For the Wolf being one of them.

So this is my summer to be read stack...as always not summery at all.

📚Book Haul📚

My bookstagram is starting to become what is Amelia reading...to be honest she is reading more than me these days!

These are all her new books she got for Christmas, 3/6 from Aunt Lauren @losetimereading

My busy farm was a gift from her cousins, Guess How Much I Love You was her book from Santa. When a Daughter needs a Dad was actually Santa's gift to Amelia's Dad for them to read together. Peter rabbit, If I Were a Bunny and Each Peach Pear Plum were gifts from Auntie Lauren! All have been read, and are great books!

She will clearly be a reader at this rate! Curious George and his black and white balloon is still her favourite though, it just captures her heart ❤️

Happy New Year!

I meant to post for Christmas but the holidays are always busy. I got the first two illustrated editions of HP for Christmas which are beautiful, and I have definitely started reading them to Amelia already 😛

I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays, Christmas is my absolute favourite time of year and it's even more Christmassy now with a little bean ♥️

I also can't wait to use my new handsfree book light...my new years resolution is to read more, I do miss it...my brain is sleep deprived and forgetful right now so I haven't been able to focus like I used to. If I can read one book a month I'd be super pleased, we'll see how it goes! 📖

❄️Hello December❄️

I've been reading other types of books as of late, my whole pregnancy I sucked at reading so I didn't post and now I'm busy with a tall little bean named Amelia but I have been reading with her.

So far her favourite is Curious George's book very specifically the black and white balloon with polka dots. She is 10 weeks old already, they grow so fast!

Most of her book collection is courtesy of Aunt @losetimereading also the dobby socks, have to start her HP indoctrination early 🤣

Let's hope I keep posting this month 🤞🏻
