Some photos with voice memo audio and some video from my band’s show Friday at @barzakh.cafe. Was great to see friends out and meet new people.
Big thanks to the band: @dansteinbass, @piersonsounds, @farafina78, and special guest @mariakimgrand, who came in on short notice and sounded amazing.

Working on playing fast time. Not a skill I use too often..just enough to be exposed when I do. So I’ve been meaning to seriously work on it for a while. Seems like this is the season! Finding some different avenues and doing my best to stay calm and relaxed, thinking of the big picture. One chorus of “Cherokee”. Goal is to have this with more relaxed control and a stronger quarter note, for 10 min or so. by @thepetermanheim

This was a very rewarding one for me. It was great to reconnect with friends and to hear some new voices in my music (ones that I had been hoping to hear for a while!). by @thepetermanheim

Got to hang and make music with my friend and teacher @bugaluspiritualdrumming today. He’s going through a rough cancer treatment at the moment. I was happy to see that he is staying positive and of course is playing his ass off, but it’s def a challenging time for him.
Hit him up if you’re a friend or student (send me a message if you need his contact info).
@groove_md (Ethan Kogan) has created an Amazon Registry for sending him some gifts- reach out to Ethan for more info on that.
Bugalu also has gigs as a leader coming up in May with an amazing band: @ornithologyjazzclub on 5/7 and @nyc_close_up on 5/25.

I’m looking forward to bringing my band back to Barzakh Cafe on April 23rd! Barzakh has felt like my musical home for the past year and it’s always a great time. Joining us for this show will be our friends and Chicago heroes @mattgoldmusic and @will.miller.
