PRIDE IS A PROTEST! ✴️

Whilst it's super fun to celebrate at Pride events. We need to remember that they are first and foremost protests!

They are needed again now more than ever. Join in smaller, local prides and marches where possible 💖

Let's all celebrate the memory and bravery of those that paved the way for us ☀️ and continue building community 🌈

Allies, we need you to be really loud in your unwavering allyship rn. It's not enough to simply say you aren't hateful, you need to be proactive. The LGBTQIA+ community need you.

Liberation is the end goal 🌟

The queer struggle has never lived in isolation; it intersects with race, with history, with every fight for the right to simply exist as ourselves. This Juneteenth, we hold space for Black liberation as inseparable from queer liberation. Through The Phluid Phoundation, we support marginalized communities and the people working to make freedom real for everyone, not just some. As Marsha P. Johnson said, There is no pride for some of us without liberation for all of us. by @thephluidproject

Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when freedom finally reached the last enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas. This Juneteenth week, we celebrate that freedom while holding close everyone who fought, and is still fighting, to make it real for all of us. Black liberation and queer liberation have never been separate stories. When the Stonewall uprising sparked the modern LGBTQ rights movement in 1969, it was trans women of colour on the front lines, loving their community so fiercely they changed history. So this week we celebrate, we give thanks, and we hold a space of respect for the Black and brown souls whose fight for racial justice and queer rights became the ground beneath our feet. Like Marsha P. Johnson said, No pride for some of us without liberation for all of us. taken in The Stonewall Inn by @thephluidproject

Righhhhht folks, there's gonna be tonnes of posts coming up all over social media with all the epic, big and wonderful things people have achieved and done this year, which is just fab!

But, I think it's mega important to equal it out with some reminders of the small (but suuuuper important) stuff too! 🌈
