A moment for the importance of biosecurity when you’re visiting our farms 🙏

Pests, weeds and diseases can travel invisibly on your shoes, clothing and car tyres putting farming operations at huge risk. Every time a farm opens to visitors, careful thought and consideration has informed a biosecurity plan which minimises the risk. Some of it you’ll see - like foot baths, and signage. Some of it, you won’t.

By keeping biosecurity in mind on your visit, you’re helping to protect our farms and food and fibre security.

“Agriculture is not crop production as popular belief holds - it’s the production of food and fiber from the world’s land and waters. Without agriculture it is not possible to have a city, stock market, banks, university, church or army. Agriculture is the foundation of civilization and any stable economy.”

Agritourism isn’t just about the great photos 🌻

It’s about meeting the people behind the paddocks, supporting rural communities and understanding where our food and fibre comes from.

This World Agritourism Day, we celebrate the farmers, families and local businesses who are sharing their patches of the Liverpool Plains and building connection with our visitors.

Thanks for the great imagery @springfieldwoolshed @windystationwoolshed @artshackwilgabah and our mates at @regionality_aus

Last stop on the @theplains_au sunflower trail @springfieldwoolshed

Did a quick sunflower field fit check (obviously).
The boys straight into hide and seek.
And we left with a little sunny to take home.

Sunnies as far as the eye can see! Ready for you at @springfieldwoolshed tomorrow 🌻

Explore the last stop on the Liverpool Plains Sunflower Trail on Sunday 22 March from 9:30am - midday.

A beautiful reason to plan a Sunday drive across the Liverpool Plains. Springfield Woolshed will be opening the gates for the Sunflower Trail

Sunday 22 March
9:30am – 12:30pm
$10/car

Visitors are invited to enjoy a walk through the paddock and pick their own sunflowers to take home.

If you visit outside of this time, you will still be able to see the sunflowers but you will not be able to enter the property or the paddock. Please keep this in mind if you are planning a trip to the Liverpool Plains.

And the last stop on the Liverpool Plains Sunflower Trail is… @springfieldwoolshed 🌻

Springfield is home to a commercial crop of sunnies which provides an amazing experience for visitors; think sunflowers as far as the eye can see! It also means that welcoming visitors is trickier for biosecurity reasons. If you want to experience Springfield’s sunnies for yourself, make sure you’re there next Sunday 22 March between 9:30am and midday. You’ll be able to walk through the paddock and pick your own to take home.

If you visit outside of this time, you’ll still be able to see the sunflowers but you won’t be able to enter the property or the paddock. Please keep that in mind if you’re planning to travel to the Liverpool Plains.

Head over to our website for directions, farm rules and other info. And make sure to share with any sunflower lovers that you know!
