We want to be ambitious, present, healthy, happy, successful and fulfilled.

We want to raise happy children, build careers, create beautiful homes, look after ourselves and actually ENJOY the life we’re working so hard for.

Some days we smash it. Some days the washing stays in the machine for three business days. 😂 AND THAT’S OK!

We can have it all. Just maybe not all at once, all at 100%, and without occasionally losing our minds (been there done that 😂).

Now why didn’t I think of that 🙈🙈

Sadly, the only thing stopping me from getting the work done quicker (and giving my poor dad a break - my hero! 🥹❤️) is my complete lack of a spare £50k to pay someone else to do it 😂

So until I win the lottery, progress will be slow and steady progress, with a lot of hard work, my questionable DIY skills, and even more love poured into this house.

It wasn’t on my life plan to get divorced at 32.

Rebuilding a life and a home, raising two young children, and building my career at the same time has been HARD. There have been days I’ve felt completely overwhelmed, days I’ve questioned how I’m going to make it all work, and days when starting again has felt like the last thing I had the energy for.

But somewhere along the way, I stopped seeing it as starting over and started seeing it as building something new.

A life that feels like mine. A home that I’m creating myself. A career I’m proud of. A future that I get to shape on my own terms.

I’ve never felt stronger, more independent, or dare I say it… happier. 🤍

Turns out, rebuilding your life from the ground up can be the making of you. And I’ve got a feeling my best chapter is still ahead. 🤍

I didn’t think the mess could get worse. But it did 😂

And I took one look at the chaos after a three day stint of demolition work and all I could think of was the scenes at Hyrox Beijing 🤢🤢 thankfully this is genuinely just a shit load of dust and rubble!

I really hope this is a turning point on all this work, as I’m definitely questioning all my life choices right now!

Please tell me it gets better from here….

The neighbour complained this morning that I’ve been doing my house for over two years now.

Trust me, well the fuck aware (IYKYK)!

I knew I was buying a doer-upper. I just massively underestimated how long the “doing” part would actually take. Two years later, and I’m still surrounded by dust and apparently still firmly in the “it gets worse before it gets better” stage.

At this point, I’d really like to know when the better is scheduled to begin… because I’m drained, my bank account is drained, and I feel like I’m ready to enjoy seasonal decor now 😂

Please tell me the end is in sight. 🤞🏼

Turns out renovating your house is NOT a cheaper alternative to therapy. 😂

Just significantly more expensive, more stressful and with considerably more decisions about EVERYTHING.

If I could turn back time, I would definitely opt for the therapy 😂😂

I am still in shock that in 2026 THIS happened!

Apparently women can “do it all” apart from take delivery of a genie lift 🤔🤔

When I said my “husband” isn’t home, the next question was are the builders here 🙈🙈🙈

No babe it’s 6pm on a Friday evening you’re going to have to deal with the WOMAN whose name is on the order 😂

Do I need to hire a male delivery acceptor for next time?!

Two weeks back into the school routine and I already feel like I’m being asked to give 110% in every area.

Work harder. Parent better. Exercise more. Keep the house tidy. Be present. Stay on top of everything. And somehow… do it all with a smile.

When did this become ok?

If you’re feeling the strain too, please know you’re not alone. ❤️

Sometimes it feels like society expects us to work like we aren’t parents, and parent like we don’t work.

Oh, and live on a single income that somehow needs to cover everything. 🙃

So today I’m trying to block out the societal noise and just keep trying my best.

2 years down, and whilst I was hoping it would be finished by now it’s nice to look back at how far the house has come. Every room is being taken back to its foundation and built up again!

TGIF! A full week back of squeezing work in between the school runs has been intense and my brain is officially done!

Enjoying book club with @clairealdridge27 - we read The Love Hypothesis this week (and I can’t wait for the film!) and now moving on to Verity.

And although she’s not on board with the Maasverse (yet!) I’ve been squeezing in a few chapters of Throne of Glass between book club reads.

Definitely in my happy place. ❤️📚
