I genuinely can’t believe I’m seeing this with my own eyes. 🥹

After seeing photos of Machu Picchu my entire life, actually standing here felt completely surreal. The mountains, the ancient Inca ruins, the clouds rolling through the Andes… no photo could have prepared me for this moment.

Machu Picchu, you are even more incredible in person. 🤍🇵🇪

HERE IS THE ITINERARY I WOULD SEND YOU FOR PLANNING 5 DAYS IN PERU 🇵🇪

🏨 Stay: Palacio del Inka - @hotelpalaciodelinka

☕️ Breakfast with alpacas
🏛️ Walk Cusco + see the famous 12-angled stone
📍 Plaza de Armas
🦙 Shop for alpaca-fur souvenirs
☕️ Coffee at the famous Three Monkeys - @threemonkeyscoffee

Then Uber to the top of the mountain and work your way back down through:

• Tambomachay
• Puka Pukara
• Q’enqo
• Templo de la Luna
• Kusilluchayoc
• Saqsaywaman

🍽️ Dinner: Organika

Tip: Start early — there is SO much to see!

DAY 2 — ALL ABOARD TO AGUAS CALIENTES 🚂

🚂 Take @perurail from Cusco toward Aguas Calientes.

The train ride is part of the experience — enjoy the incredible views, onboard entertainment and scenery as you make your way toward Machu Picchu.

Once you arrive:

🌿 Explore Aguas Calientes
🛍️ Browse the local markets + souvenir shops
🍽️ Dinner at @chullosrestaurants or Ponchos

Then get an early night because tomorrow is Machu Picchu day. 👀

DAY 3 — MACHU PICCHU 🏔️

THE DAY YOU CAME TO PERU FOR.

🎟️ Our recommendation: If your budget allows, book two circuit tickets so you can experience both the incredible viewpoints AND walk through the ancient city.

We recommend:

Circuit 2 + Circuit 3

🥾 And if you’re lucky enough to snag a ticket for Huayna Picchu — DO IT.

After exploring Machu Picchu, head back to Aguas Calientes and hop on the @perurail through the Sacred Valley.

🏨 Next stop: Tambo del Inka

And one of the coolest parts?

🚂 The train station is literally connected to the hotel.

DAY 4 — SACRED VALLEY 🏔️

🚗 We hired a private driver through the hotel so we could see multiple sites without worrying about transportation.

First stop:

🦙 Mountain View Experience - @mountainviewexperience
Relax in a jacuzzi surrounded by llamas + alpacas, enjoy the incredible Andes views, and have lunch.

🎨 Watercolors + an Andes-view picnic

Then:

🏛️ Moray
🧂 Maras Salt Mines

✨ End the day back at your hotel…

🌌 Stargazing under the Milky Way
