Macro photography. At night. On film. What could go wrong?

I took my Nikon F3 out after dark to photograph mushrooms using a reversed lens, artificial light, and Lucky 100 black-and-white film.

Focusing was incredibly difficult, and plenty of shots didn’t turn out. But a few revealed some fascinating textures and details!

Would you have guessed these were mushrooms?

I found an old Yashicaflex twin-lens reflex camera and decided to take it apple picking with my son on a sunny autumn afternoon.

Shot on Lomography Color Negative 400 medium format film. A few missed-focus shots, but some memories worth keeping.

Testing the Ricoh Hi-Color 35, a tiny vintage camera with a spring-wound film advance you actually have to crank. 📷

A strange little camera, but a lot of fun to shoot.

29-year-old Kodak film + rainy Las Vegas… what could go wrong? 🎞️
I loaded this 1997 expired Kodak Gold 200 into my Olympus OM-1 and shot it around the Las Vegas Strip on a cloudy, rainy day.
The results? Grainy, color-shifted, imperfect… and exactly why I love experimenting with expired film.

I traveled to Las Vegas with CineStill 800T loaded and ready for some night photography…
Then I rewound the film the wrong way. 😅
The result: a roll full of strange patterns, damaged frames, and one very memorable film photography fail.

A quiet Sunday afternoon by the fleuve Saint-Laurent, searching for shells with the kids.
Shot on my Nikon F2 with Shanghai GP3 400 black-and-white 35mm film.
Nothing extraordinary. Just one of those simple moments I want to remember.

This is why I still shoot film.
