December 12, 2026 🚣‍♂️ Mark it in your calendars!

We’ll be setting off in a 7x2 metre rowboat to take on 4,828 km (3,000 miles) across the Atlantic, from La Gomera in the Canaries to English Harbour in Antigua in the @worlds.toughest.row

That’s the diameter of Australia… plus an extra 800 km for good measure. 😅

We’ll carry everything with us, food, safety gear, an onboard watermaker and hopefully enough toilet paper to survive at least 29 days. No pit stops. No land. Just two-hour shifts, blisters, and a lot of very questionable banter.

Sounds wild, right? Well, here’s the kicker… we don’t even have a boat yet. 🛶

We’re The Racing Mos, and we’re rowing for more than just madness. We’re raising funds for Movember and St Luke’s Hospice, two causes close to our hearts. 💙

If you can help, by following, sharing, or sponsoring, please reach out. Together, we can get us to the start line.

Training went suspiciously well. Flat seas, perfect weather, zero complaints 😅

The Atlantic won't be as kind. We're ready anyway. 12 December, La Gomera to Antigua. Let's go.

For those who are new to this page, we are The Racing Mos and we are going to be rowing 3,000 miles across The Atlantic Ocean in December of this year to raise funds for @stlukesplymouth and @movember as part of @worlds.toughest.row

From left to right we are:

Jeb (Aus)🇦🇺 @jebwilliam
Struan (NZ)🇳🇿 @strewnc
Max (UK) 🇬🇧 @maximwhiteley
Jake (UK) 🇬🇧 @jakebrooking

Jeb, Struan and Jake met each other working in the yatching sector, where as Jake and Max are childhood friends.

None of us had any previous rowing experience to speak of, so this has certainly been a learning curve, but we all have one thing in common, our desire to push ourselves to new limits and to experience the sheer adventure of crossing an ocean through physical and mental exertion!

Now whilst this all sounds quite serious, we can assure you we plan on continuing to have plenty of laughs along the way, as we fumble our way through the challenge of a lifetime!

We’ve recently completed all of our required on water training hours, so are now focussed on preparing the boat, carrying out minor modifications, packing our daily food packs and honing in on our physical and mental preparation!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far and continues to show us love - The Racing Mos!

PS - Massive shout out to @lskd for kitting us out with our training clobber!

The boys were training in Southampton over the weekend when they rowed past Bruce Wayne's house (actual name Netley Castle) - History lesson incoming…

Netley Castle is a former Tudor artillery fort built by Henry VIII in 1542–1544… Proof that The Racing Mos page is educational as well as entertaining!

There really is nothing like getting out on the boat and taking in some new sites - it certainly beats slogging it out on a @concept2inc erg!

No disrespect to ergs though - they're a crucial tool in the boys' training arsenal!

More updates to follow! taken in Netley Castle by @theracingmos
