On behalf of @mjawa_ws I want to personally thank @councilmembersaka for his dedication to making West Seattle a better place! We’re the OG Seattle, and dude… we are WINNING! SPR-008-B-1 has PASSED! We are officially going to #keepmorganjunctionskateable. This is a great moment to celebrate all the hardworking people involved in the cleanup, DIY activation, and volunteering that made this result possible. We look forward to working with @seattleparksandrec with this $700,000 in “PROVISIO” funding to provide the space that we all have backed and wanted for our community. This is a HUGE win, and it’s finally time to celebrate this victory for Morgan Junction and the entire west side of Seatown! Extra thanks to MOCA (Deb, Michael, Conrad, Christopher), @seattleparksfoundation , Matt, Kristin, John, Jon, Chip, Zac, @portal.llc , @grindlineskateparks , @westseattleblog and @westsideseattle for their help in keeping this going🤘#letsgooooo taken in Beautiful West Seattle by @theradickalwave

We just got some of the best news we’ve heard in a LOOOOOONG time over here at MJAWA! Councilmember Saka’s budget amendment has received inclusion in the 2026 city council budget! A FULL $700,000 is currently allotted to #keepmorganjunctionskateable

I can’t thank member Saka, and co-sponsor councilmember Hollingsworth for keeping this whole thing moving on our behalf. Thanks also to all the council members on the side of West Seattle and progress started by the hands in this community!

THIS ISN’T OVER YET. We still need to keep this money on the books, and we need you… Yes, YOU, to please use the power of YOUR VOICE! There is another budget meeting at City Hall THIS THURSDAY at 4:30 where you can share how much this $700,000 opportunity means to you. You can also join the email campaign extremely easily, and share that this community, our kids & families, deserve to have this mission seen through to completion! You have 3 weeks to keep your voices coming in LOUD AND CLEAR! Please take advantage! Thank you to everyone that has shown us love, to everyone that sees the value in what keeping wheels on the ground at MJ means to this whole community, young and old. I’ll say it one last time with my full chest… let’s #KEEPMORGANJUNCTIONSKATEABLE Who’s with us?!? Who can commit 5 quick minutes to write an email, or a simple hour to COME BE HEARD, in person, at City Hall on Thursday? I hope it’s YOU! I hope to see you alllllll there to show love! 🤘🛹🌊🤙

If you want to see skating remain plausible at Morgan Junction, I urge you all to come represent! Rob Saka has put forth a request to channel $700K to the project to get this thing over the line. We can use ALLLLLL the support we can find, so please… come join us, won’t you!?! Make YOUR voice heard! 🤘🛹🌊🤙 by @theradickalwave
