I thought it would be fun to share a little mini tour of the cabin we stayed in 👀

You just never know what you will get when enjoying all the modern fun of online cabin booking but this one despite a few little hiccups was an absolute 💎

My only advice when planning an adventure into the unknown forest is to do as much research as you possibly can. Knowing where your closest store and hospital are located and what the road conditions are can be crucial information to have once you get on the way 🚗

Making sure you read through ALL the reviews and the information packages sent is super important to not avoid any surprises!

One thing to remember is the devastating wildfire that nearly took out this whole area in 2023

Much of Adam's lake and the towns that scatter the shores of the Shuswap have suffered catastrophic wildfire damage and the area may never fully recover.

The road we took to get to this cabin has an 18km stretch that doesn't allow stopping due to the fact the land was burning for so long that trees and rocks have nothing to keep them in the ground.

Seeing the area in 2022 and then return to see the cast stretches of bare land and burnt forest was truly heartbreaking.

But I would encourage you to support these commutes such as Adam's lake and Celista, Sorrento, Scotch Creek and Tappen all hold a magic that no wildfire could ever take away and they need the economy to stay strong so they can rebuild ❤️❤️❤️ by @therainbowabode

What starts as a booking always ends with core memories ❤️✌️🚗

Saving little moments and memories from our adventures has always been my favorite part of this platform long before algorithms and all the chase for big accounts happened.

We had the best little trip away and I'm already searching for next year's little gem! I love exploring new places and taking my kids to places I've been and loved years ago.

This trip way up past the Shuswap into Adams lake was so fun to do now the kids are older and I think its safe to say we all enjoyed ourselves ❤️

Tell me, would you take this road? Would you take this road 48km up a mountain? How about if it it was 48km out of cell phone range? What if I told you it's an active logging road? How about its not mandatory but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to use a radio to know when logging trucks are approaching and help them to know you are coming? What if you got one of those fancy radios and and managed to get it programed only to find out at the start of the road you don't have that channel? 🤣🫠🤣

Throw in a little MUD on a very not paved dirt road with 200 foot drops down to the 7th deepest lake in the WORLD ( Yes we learnt that little fact) and you got a family trip to a very remote cabin in the woods!

When researching this very long forestry road i found little to no information or much of anything recent. The things I did find were from years ago and mostly scary horror stories 🤣

All in a all our little #subaruforester handled it like a pro with her new tires and expert driver behind the wheel and the views were spectacular especially coming back which is what this footage is off.

If you've been a follower for awhile you know we try to escape every September for our little back to school vacation ❤️

This year I booked late and still managed to find an absolute gem in the heart of the #shuswap ☀️

For sure the most remote adventure our little family has ever gone on and do NOT even ask about the 40km down a dirt logging forestry service road it took to get here 🤣
