🇺🇸 2026 North American Regional Powerlifting Championship Recap 🇺🇸

Squat 148 kg / 326 lbs NAPF Record
Bench 95 kg / 210 lbs NAPF Record
Deadlift 168 kg / 370 lbs NAPF Record
Total 411 kg / 906 lbs NAPF Record

First and foremost I want to thank Phoebe and all of Kk’s sponsors (RHD Plumbing, Angel Exteriors, and all those that bought shirts or donated directly) for allowing us the opportunity to make it to the meet. It takes a village when you have a strong, strong girl with lots of potential!

The overarching feeling from both Kk and us was, “it would have gone better hadn’t travel been so difficult.” The travel to St. John’s took a day and a half, which had a huge impact on the eating and sleep, in addition to being rather stressful. She weighed in really light, which was after eating breakfast and trying our best to bump up the bodyweight all morning. Her last meet fasted she was .7 higher, so likely a full kilo or more under her normal bodyweight.

The prep went quite well; best two months of training she’s ever had, and on paper the meet looked like it would be prime conditions for another big total PR. This said, we still went for PRs on all lifts, but they simply weren’t there on squat and bench. She was able to get a deadlift PR, and it did look easier than her previous PR. Having been there for all the travel woes, it was pretty much the likely scenario. The last meet she had the meet of her life, and to beat that in two months is tough to do under good circumstances, let alone the day after really tumultuous travel with sleep restriction, food restriction, stress, and jet lag.

We haven’t missed a meet yet for an athlete, and are very happy we were able to support Kk in St. John’s. She did extremely well, ending only 6.5 kg under her all time best and setting records across the board. Next up for Kk: Senior year HS powerlifting circuit. 😈 We couldn’t be more excited taken in Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland by @theranchtc

🇺🇸2025 Sub Junior Worlds Recap 🇺🇸

Squat: 320.5 kg / 707# & 2 kg PR 🥈
Bench: 160 kg / 353# PR match
Deadlift: 327.5 kg / 722# & 5.5 kg PR 🥇
Total: 808 kg / 1781# & 7.5 kg PR 🥉

It’s hard to put into words how hard it is to get to Worlds in the IPF, let alone medal, let alone be ≈2 kg away from winning. I am very proud of Carlos for being that guy. We PR’d his total not once, not twice… 5 times in a row this year in competition. There aren’t many people that can say that.

January 4: 1600
March 8: 1686
April 12: 1720
June 1: 1765
September 3: 1781

That’s 82 kg of progress in 9 months, and 168 kg since his last meet before working with us. We took him from a good lifter to World Class. We are grateful to have been alongside Carlos for this journey, proud of what he has accomplished, and incredibly happy he walked away without injury.

“The Lord’s will be done.” These are the words we will hang on to… Sports are wonderful. We had a long winning streak that was bound to end eventually.

Part 1:

Building a client base, experience, and a reputation! These were the foundational years. Looking back, there’s so much... SO much I would do differently if I knew then what I know now, but all I did was focus on building knowledge of strength & conditioning training and a positive reputation… that’s it.

Part 2 is much more interesting: opening the gym in the MIDDLE of Covid, but part 2 doesn’t leave the ground without having a really firm foundation that started during this period.

Things that are left out:

Finishing my degree in Health and Human performance with a minor in strength and conditioning. 👨‍🎓

Getting my CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist). 🏃‍♂️ 🏋️‍♂️

Starting the Lake Mills High School Powerlifting team and growing it from 2-20+ kids in 1 year. 💪

Mara (my girlfriend at the time, we are now happily married 💍) going back to school to be a Physical Therapy Assistant, quitting her job, and essentially partnering with me.

How badly Covid blew up my business. I was just gaining a lot of momentum, training 40+ hours per week, onboarding new clients, new calls all the time, and it pretty much wiped me out completely. This was right when I started looking for our gym location, which really made it even more stressful, since income went to ≈1/3 what it was just days earlier.

But we figured it out. ✝️

Now In Stock: LMNT Electrolytes‼️

We’re excited to announce that we are now official partners of LMNT! We first sampled their electrolyte products when they graciously donated packets for our powerlifting competitions earlier this year. We love the fact that they make their products without sugar or artificial ingredients, and only the good stuff your body actually needs (like sodium, potassium, magnesium). Plus, the flavors taste great!

If you need to replenish your electrolytes after a hard workout or for general dehydration, we hope you’ll consider grabbing LMNT at The Ranch!

Products we currently carry ⬇
💦Electrolyte packets: Grab a single packet for $1.50, or mix & match any of our flavors! 15 for $21 ($1.40/stick), 30 for $39 ($1.30/stick).
💦Sparkling energy drinks: Grab a cold one from our fridge for $2.75, or mix & match a case of 12 for $30 ($2.50/can).
