Federal prosecutors have shifted their focus to a separate federal racketeering case against Lil Durk (Durk Banks) following his full acquittal on murder-for-hire charges in September 2026. Facing charges under the Violent Crimes in Aid of Racketeering (VICAR) statute, Durk remains in federal custody as the government alleges he operated his Only The Family (OTF) collective as a criminal enterprise known as the “Banks Gang Enterprise.”

A week after his acquittal, Judge Michael Fitzgerald set Lil Durk’s bond hearing for Nov 4th. This means that the Oct 5th trial date is simply a placeholder and that the trial is going to be moved back. This gives Durk’s legal team more time to prepare a defense for his RICO case.

In this episode of The Rap Sheet: Hip Hop — Where Culture Meets Court, we examine contradictory firsthand accounts from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers who were at the scene on the night Tupac was fatally shot in 1996.
Former LVMPD Sergeant Chris Carroll claims that when he asked Tupac who shot him, Tupac looked him in the eye and uttered his infamous last words: “F** you.”*
However, LVMPD Officer Garry Dale testified under oath with a completely different account, stating Tupac’s final response to who shot him was: “No, we’ll take care of it.”

The March 2025 sworn deposition from Alrick Cooper III, Drakeo the Ruler’s bodyguard, is one of the most detailed eyewitness accounts ever entered into the public record about the fatal backstage attack at the Once Upon a Time in L.A. festival. In this video, we break down Cooper’s testimony line‑by‑line — what he saw, what he identified, and how his statements reshaped the ongoing homicide investigation.

Cooper describes being confronted by 20–25 men, with one figure standing front and center: YG. Despite a ski mask, Cooper says he recognized him by his hazel eyes, height, build, and demeanor. Under oath, he testifies that YG produced a 3–4 inch silver blade from his sleeve and slashed toward him, while Drakeo stood just feet behind. Cooper also states that two other men carried similar improvised knives.

Beyond identifying attackers, Cooper details major security failures — including being the only person frisked, unchecked vehicles entering backstage, and blocked escape routes that left Drakeo’s team trapped. He also acknowledges prior tension between Drakeo and YG, citing public comments and diss tracks.
