Not demons. Not monsters. Not devils. Not bogeymen. Men. Too many men.

If we continue to frame it this way, it’s not helpful.

Not one-off mentally ill monsters.

Men you see everyday in your churches, schools, work, universities, families, neighborhoods.

I’m more referring to the fact that so many men see coercion, control and force as normal - instead of rape.

The most recent stories of violence against women and girls that have come across my feed.

I don’t share these consistently for shock.

I’m beyond shocked at this point.

I share to convey the scope of the problem. The epidemic. The every day accepted as normal male violence against women and girls.

Keep talking about this please.

And of course I know that women do bad things too…

But—

Men don’t live in fear of women physically and sexually.

No one is telling their sons to cover their drinks so women don’t drug and rape them.

Women doctors aren’t secretly assaulting hundreds of their male patients.

Women aren’t sedating their husbands, assaulting them and uploading the videos for millions of women to watch.

Men aren’t being attacked by women while out for a run.

“It’s not all about gender”… systemically it is.

The gaslighting women receive for talking about the disparity is wild.

I’m all for consent education don’t get me wrong. But that’s for young boys.

College age men got into college - for fuck’s sake they know what consent is already.

They just choose to take whatever they want because they know they can get away with it.

When there’s no fear of punishment or consequence, anything goes - at the expense of women and girls.
