Honored to be at El Centro de la Raza’s Building the Beloved Community Gala, celebrating the work, the people, and the future of our community.

Always a pleasure running into community celebrities like La Chingona, Estela Ortega, Executive Director of El Centro de la Raza.

What a beautiful night reminding us that when we build together, we are powerful. ✊🏽❤️

A good friend and mentor once said, “Relationships belong to those who maintain them.” 🫱🏽‍🫲🏾💙

This year has reminded me that life really is about meaningful relationships, the people who show up, the people who challenge you, the people who love you through every version of yourself.

As I get older, I’m becoming more intentional about who and what gets my energy. I want relationships that are meaningful, honest, and reciprocal. Not perfect. Not transactional. Just real.

I’m grateful for the people who have walked beside me and reminded me that chosen family is very much a real thing. ❤️

Un buen amigo y mentor me dijo una vez: “Las relaciones les pertenecen a quienes las mantienen.” 🫱🏽‍🫲🏾 💙

Este año me ha recordado que la vida realmente se trata de las relaciones intencionales. De las personas que están presentes, de quienes te desafían a crecer y de quienes te aman en cada versión de ti.

Este último año he sido más intencional con quién y en qué invierto mi energía. Teniendo relaciones intencionales, honestas y recíprocas. No perfectas. No transaccionales. Simplemente reales.

Estoy agradecido por las personas que están a mi lado y que me han recordado que a la familia la elegimos.❤️
