my love language is really just books by @thereadersgroupchat

A year and a half, four drafts, lots of beta readers, and probably far too many cups of coffee later, NO SMALL PRICE is finally query-ready

This story and these characters mean the world to me, and sharing it with anyone other than my husband (who has read every single draft, the poor guy) and the few friends who read it is SCARY, to say the least. BUT I wrote the dang thing, and surely that’s the hardest part… surely

NO SMALL PRICE is the first in a fantasy trilogy with strong romantic sub-plots, complete at 88,000 words. It follows Laurie and her older brother as they fight to find a cure for Gavin’s strange condition before it’s too late. On top of everyone’s favourite fantasy elements and two agonizingly slow-burn love stories, the book also puts focus on how trauma impacts people in different ways, the awful (but familiar) realization that someone might not consider you the way you consider them, and how growing older can sometimes mean growing out of who you were

PS. If there are any literary agents out there who want to save me from the query trenches, I’d be all too happy to be rescued by @thereadersgroupchat

Half of me is so exciting to be heading into act three of my first romantasy book but the other half knows that the task of editing looms and I swear it’s slowing me down
