throwback to 6 month old misu (finally editing our Vancouver trip from July 😂)

traveling with a puppy is already a lot so a 12 hour drive felt kinda insane but misu pretty much slept the whole way!!!

a few things that helped us:

1. made sure he had a good walk + pooped before we left
2. gave him @healthybudco calming aid treats before + during the drive
3. stopped every 2–3 hours for a little walk + pee break
4. tired him out the night before with a LONG walk 😂

ASMR 🔊 kidding aside 😂 tethering has actually helped us sooo much with teaching misu how to settle!

we usually do this when he’s getting a little too overtired/overstimulated (bitey!) and just cannot chill lol. we’ll keep him tethered near us for 10–15 mins (always supervised!) and eventually he realizes nothing exciting is happening and settles on his own.

been doing this for months now and it works really well for him!! the negotiations are just part of the process 😭

days 3 + 4 and safe to say he’s not missing us LOL

we don’t really have family here in the city who can watch misu and all of our friends were on this trip with us, so honestly we’re so grateful places like this exist 🥹 knowing he gets to spend his days playing, making friends (hi George) and having the time of his life makes leaving him a little easier!! @luckypawsyyc

still kinda funny that out of everything i could be allergic to… it had to be dogs 😭

i grew up around dogs back in the philippines, so that allergy test definitely caught me off guard! but of course that wasn’t gonna stop me. i’ve always dreamed of having a dog of my own and luckily there was an option for me because LET ME TELL YOU… getting close to or petting a dog used to leave me so stuffy and unwell.

thankfully, the process has been pretty easy for me! most of my allergy shot vials were covered by my benefits. honestly, the hardest part was just committing to the weekly appointments. i started weekly allergy shots in february 2026 and just recently moved to monthly maintenance!

and life with misu has been nothing but amazing. is he a handful sometimes? absolutely 😂 but he’s worth every bit of figuring this out and truly the BEST boy ever. i wouldn’t have it any other way :)

i’ve actually talked to a few dog parents who deal with allergies too so apparently there are more of us out there 😂

any other dog parents allergic to their own dogs??
