High school is supposed to set us up for the real world…

Looking back there are many things I wish I had known sooner , if I could go back these are 5 things id teach my younger self

1. Grades aren’t everything,
See tbh I only got good grades to please my family in reality I only went to school for sports, eat my lunch & chill with the brothers. Whilst yes academics are important don’t get me wrong but real world skills & relationships matter just as much

2. Stand out like a black sheep, don’t follow the herd instead lead it. The comfort zone gives no room for growth and your ego is probably holding you back from your untapped potential

3. Life is a roller coaster, it’ll have its ups and downs but it’s full of things you must experience. You can either learn lessons & grow or be oblivious and stay the same

4. Live it up whilst at school cause sh*t life is the toughest game any individual can play

5. Comparing yourself to others isn’t doing you any good , it’s hindering you as a person. If you keep comparing yourself to someone else you’ll never be happy, it’s a mindset shift I wish everyone in the world adopted

What are a few things you wished you learned in highschool?

Ps not dogging school my tenor was an awesome one this is nothing but an open reflection 🙏🏽

WHO AM I?

First n foremost I am a Maori male living in a very diverse world,
I am a proud son to a immensely strong single mother,
a family member to many different whanaus over my years of living,
a friend to many in which iykyk I’d give the shirt off my back for the right ones and the real ones,
a baller who many years was just ball is life type lifestyle,
a coach across different levels,
a role model to some others would say a inspiration,
a comedian/silly bugga,
a project founder,
a hustler,
a aspiring entrepreneur,
a investor,
a trader,
a ideologist,
a visionary.

Much like an onion I am multi layered,
I wear many different hats, I could go on,
But at the end of the day im just an ordinary guy striving for extraordinary things.

POV: behind the scenes shooting content with J & T

Fr we are far from professional content creators more like brofessional content creators, but it isn’t about perfection. The imperfections sometimes are better than what you may think is perfect

Most of our content together honestly starts like this, setting up with our gadgets just playing around with them and finding some spot to shoot what we had planned.

But,
Do we stick to the plan?
Mmmm half n half, always come in with a plan but sometimes even those plans change too

They say life changes when you have a kid, I guess they are right

Amongst all the noise of being new to parenthood, you are the best part of it all.

It’s more than just me now. It’s us.
It’s our family.

You changed our lives for the better.
You are why the legacy will be built with bricks not sand.

To be a dad is foreign to me, I never had one. I am forever learning.
But as we continue, the journey offers many paths to walk down just know we will always be side by side.

The grind will always be worth it especially because,

I never knew my dad so I didn’t have no male role model in my life until I met my high school basketball coach, so these things I want my son to know comes from the years I didn’t have that with a dad or male figure.

These 3 things might be something so simple to some but to others they are huge!

To be loved,
To be seen,
To be heard,
You feel that.

That’s all at the end of the day people want.

This no feel sorry for me post this is what I’m going to do with my son because it’s something that was missing in my own life and he won’t be missing it in his that’s for sure
