For those who may or may not know my husBean @cpethompson has stage four cancer de la colon. He is being well treated and cared for by the folks at Mount Sinai. We are beyond grateful to family, friends, chosen family, acquaintances, coworkers and strangers for their kindness, support, help, butt jokes, love and gumption that they share with our little family on this fight.

We will post updates as they come in but from the man himself “he has every intention of being absolutely fine.” Please keep us abreast of the goings on in YOUR lives as we become slightly more reclusive in the weeks to come. ❤️

I turned 40 on July 31st and decided to throw a funeral for my 30s complete with New Orleans style street parade. I do love a witchy gothic rebirth, I do.

My 30s were brilliant, brutal, beautiful, bountiful and boundary-full. I experienced many ego deaths, death deaths, career highs and lows, got married, had spiritual, ethical and character awakenings and realizations, battled anxiety, came out, purged and got purged, sought truth and sat in crunchy/uncomfortable (but necessary growth) Hell I even adopted a doctor (our rescue dog is a doctor if you didn’t know).

Community, compassion and curiosity are and will continue to be my goals in this timeline. I will inevitably mess it up but I will die trying to pursue what I owe to myself and what we owe to each other.

I am bone deep grateful for everyone who had a lead, supporting, recurring, cameo, dayplayer or background appearance in this past decade. You shaped me more than you could possibly know. I will keep trying to make good by you, me, and the planet.

To everyone who sent a message, card (thank you @cpethompson for the best coordinated mail effort in the history of time!), who came to the funeral party, or held me in their thoughts, I felt it and have spend the better part of the day weeping with gratitude and joy for your actions. How lucky I am to have such incredible humans in my life, continuously inspiring me, making me laugh, holding me when my feelings get too big. I get to witness all of you and my heart is profoundly full because of it. Thank you and I love you!

Death comes for us all so we might as well live deep. Here’s to living bravely!

Join The @lustymannequins (Ashley Comeau, Alastair Forbes, Connor Thompson and Karen Parker) as they hit the stage with their hilarious friends.

This comedy variety show will feature some of Canada and the UK’s most brilliant comedians as they make mirth and merry to raise money for Mount Sinai and Juravinski Hospitals - the two hospitals that have been pivotal in helping Connor kick cancer’s ass!

Special guests include: Guled Abdi (TallBoyz), Lil Gabi D (The Squeaky Wheel), Izad Etemadi (Orphan Black, Wine Boys), Patrice Goodman (Sunnyside, The Handmaid’s Tale), Colin Mochrie (Whose Line Is It Anyway?) and Rosie Jones (Taskmaster). Extra humour provided by Carly Billings (Reacher) and James Gangl (Saved By The Bell)

All proceeds from the show and prize draw (yes, there is gonsta be prizes!), will go to the hospitals’ cancer care clinics.

Happy Birthday to my oldest, rudest bean. Here’s to another beautiful year.

Here’s a celebration too of everyone from near and far who has reached out and been so supportive and lovely this past year. Not everyone is shown, but friendship is a huge and important part of life. Whether we have been able to see you in person or not, to see people celebrate @cpethompson and check in and send dumb bits and love and mail and to provide advice and distractions and reminders that he is not alone or forgotten about is so wonderful. To witness how many people love old CThomps is nothing short of beautiful. Not even close to everyone is shown here.

Connor is a brilliant, hilarious and caring human who I am lucky enough to move through life with.
He is the funniest, cuddliest, wittiest man. May we all celebrate this bean today on his birthday! 🎂 ♥️

It has been an honour and a delight to direct the incredibly talented and charming @thecassiecao

The power and humour and healing and care put into this show are next level. To say nothing of the fact that it not only educates the audience but also includes them every step of the way. Cassie is a shining performer and a clever and witty writer. I was happy to be in this show’s orbit, but the talent is all Cassie. This show and this human are full of great value and I hope we continue to invest in them!

One last chance to see “How To Love A Fascist” at @hamfringehftco at @millshardware 12pm on Sunday the 26th. Thank you to everyone who has come to the show already, and who reviewed it, posted about it and who was involved in any step of the way.

A belated birthday post to a woman who is a ride or die, a côte de Rhone, a wild, wise witch, a divine madness, a spark plug of pure joy, a true Aquarius (doing it for the collective and in a weird af creative way!), a brilliant writer, an incredible actor, an amazing auntie to Dr Toby, who had an acorn haircut as a child, who is so generous and kind and curious and compassionate, funny and brave and weird and magical. This is a woman who has travelled seven dimensions on the walk from her bedroom to the kitchen and who spends her life sharing the gifts of that journey to everyone around her. We are lucky to know her and witness her life. Man oh man Goodhue pours love and care into her relationships and her learning. And holy hell she can read the tarot with an almost eerie accuracy. Last week we had the honour of attending Ken Stern’s 80th birthday celebration. Great turnout! Students from many different years celebrating a man who was there for us since before we had even found ourselves.
