For everyone who has contacted us, Maria is home safe, resting and recovering after giving us a massive scare.

We share this because it may help someone going through something similar.

Some of these images show a fever and an elevated resting heart rate. This brought us to the ER at NYU where an emergency heart procedure was performed to save my loves life.

We almost decided to stay home because many times before, after visiting the emergency room, we were sent home with pain killers and muscle relaxers and an “oh it’s unfortunately a lupus related pain” explanation. This time it was different.

As much as some folks dislike AI, an all day long conversation with @claudeai evaluating my wife’s previous day’s Dr. visit blood work along with her symptoms prompted me to buy a blood pressure monitor and check her temperature just before I turned in for bed. After getting the results and plugging them into Claude it prompted me to rush to the hospital along with exactly what I needed to say to the triage nurse.

With my wife fading by the minute we managed to get in and the Nurses, Doctors and Surgeons at @nyulangone did what they do best.

I asked for prayers that night because as I kissed her before they wheeled her into a Cath Lab for her procedure strapped with defibrillator pads and consent forms were being given for a worst case scenario … in that moment I was scared, broken, and I knew this wasn’t something that I could fix.

I went into the empty waiting room and prayed on my knees in tears hoping for the best case possible and I didn’t want to pray alone. Matthew 18:20 - “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

All of you who prayed even for a second, thank you! God heard us and let her pull through. For every family member that visited, friends that called, every clinician that partook in her care, we are eternally grateful.

It’s Lupus awareness month and we had intended on flooding our pages with things to help raise awareness I guess this is it.

If you or your loved one are feeling off, don’t ever leave it to chance. This could have been a much sadder post but thank God, and thanks to all by @therealchrishernandez

I had to STOP using ring lights for my selftapes. ❌

Flat, overexposed lighting is the fastest way to make a professional audition look like a wack FaceTime call.

Here is 2-light breakdown I’m using in this video:
• Key Light: GVM 300 Bicolor with Softbox at a 45-degree angle in front. This creates depth and shape on your face (Rembrandt lighting… Google it 🤓).

• Back Light: Placed 45 degrees behind on the opposite side. This creates a “rim” that pops you off the background so you don’t look like a 2D cutout.
