1. I had find out what industry I really wanted to work with (Schools and non profits)

2. Created a clear offer that the industry needed. So the Schools and non profits needed Documentaries, and service business needs video ads. So I went on Claude to make me an offer to get the results they need

3. Reached out to the person over marketing and media to build a relationship with them based off what I do. I found the emails from SNOV.io and also got their phone numbers.

4. I told people I run a video marketing agency instead of saying I shoot videos. People tend to take you more serious when you do so

5. I recorded BTS of me working and started posting on my page. Business came to me from there because they love the process rather than finish products. by @therealdanieljefferson

Last August, this was just an idea.

My friend Davon (who also stars in the film) wanted to play a lawyer, so we started building a story around that vision. But we didn’t just want to make another short film—we wanted to create something that looked and felt like a real movie.

Before we even finished the script, we wrote the lead roles with Myles Truitt and Aspen Kennedy in mind… even though we had no connection to them and no idea if they’d ever say yes.

The budget? Around $5,000–$7,000.

The money? We didn’t have it.

I reached out to Myles on Instagram with zero expectations. He replied. Then Aspen said yes too.

Originally, we planned to shoot on a Sony FS3, but through a connection, our DP secured an ARRI camera at no cost. One miracle after another.

Then reality hit.

Crew changes. Frustration. Setbacks.

Three days before production, we only had about a third of the budget. Most people would’ve canceled.

We didn’t.

We kept saying, “We’re making this film.”

Then, just one day before production… everything came together. The remaining budget showed up, and we made it happen.

Looking back, this project changed my life.

It established me as a director, helped me grow my production company, opened doors to opportunities I never imagined, and even led to conversations around multi-million-dollar projects.

Now we’re working to fully fund the next chapter.

This is proof that sometimes the vision comes before the resources.

If God gave you a vision, don’t quit just because you can’t see how it’s going to happen yet.

Keep showing up. Keep building. Keep believing.

The story isn’t over. by @therealdanieljefferson

Just 1 year ago I was sitting there trying to figure out how to scale my business. I had all these ideas, a borrowed camera, and a dream to build a real film production agency. But I kept doing the exact same things over and over again — expecting a different result.

Last year I decided to do something different.

I decided to shut up, lock in, and cut out every distraction. I didn’t want any excuse for not making it. If I failed, I wanted the blame on me and only me.

So I picked the camera back up with a new focus and a new drive. I started shooting. Documenting. Building in front of everyone.

I went from zero clients, zero projects… to multiple 5-figure months. Documentaries. Feature films. A personal brand. Coaching other filmmakers. Traveling the country doing what I love.

I’m telling you this because if you have the same goal —

Pick up your camera. Cut the distractions. Shoot.

That’s it. That’s the whole formula. by @therealdanieljefferson

I’m not afraid to admit this…
	1.	I catch myself comparing my work to other filmmakers. And when I do, I slip into competition mode… when I really just need to lock in on my craft. Comparison kills creativity. Focus builds it.
	2.	I care too much about what people think sometimes. I’ll look for validation in opinions instead of trusting my own voice… and more importantly, trusting God’s direction over the noise.
	3.	This work looks glamorous on Instagram. Cinematic shots. Clean edits. Big moments.
But behind the scenes? It’s stressful. It’s tedious. It’s problem-solving nonstop. It’s carrying gear, managing people, fixing mistakes, late nights, early mornings. A lot of what makes it work… nobody sees.
	4.	The expectations are heavy. Every project feels like it has to top the last one. You can’t stay the same. You have to grow. And that pressure can get overwhelming if you don’t manage it right.
	5.	And yeah… there are days I want to quit. Days it feels too demanding.
But when I look back at the progress? The growth? The doors that opened because I didn’t stop? That’s what keeps me going. by @therealdanieljefferson
