#unsocialaes Album Review: Dawn Ali

Dawn Ali @therealdawnali positions himself as both narrator and architect of this project. The “presents” in the title suggests a curatorial ambition, he isn’t just performing, but also staging a world, a mood, a tension..

That dual role invites listeners in, he’s the guide through the sonic terrain he’s built. His previous works (singles, EPs) hint at an artist always pushing, refusing to be boxed. Here, he leans into that restless energy, letting the album feel like an emotional mixtape filtered through a cinematic lens..

The “Dawn Ali Presents: Slumdog Millionaire” Album is now uploaded to my YouTube channel with the lyrics in each description 🐕💸🌄

When I made this song I had just went from losing my job, going through a bad breakup, and getting evicted to making the most money I ever made, getting a new crib, and fostering newer and healthier relationships. You can have it all today and lose it all tomorrow. You can seemingly have nothing today and gain everything you’d hoped for and more tomorrow. Regardless I try to always stay in a positive mindset especially when I’m stressed. My complaints are expressed in the form of jokes. A smile goes a long way. A sandwich, a “hello”, a bottle of water, simple shit really means a lot when you have very little. The beach/lakefront is free. Checking in on a friend is free. Showing care and concern doesn’t require you to spend a dollar. If you have a bathtub, you have an in-home spa. You can workout for free outside or at home. @sweathouz has $40-50 1-hour contrast therapy sessions w/ a sauna & deep plunge. When’s the last time you went roller skating. Or to the movies. When’s the last time you climbed a tree. It’s interesting how scary & exhilarating something as simple as climbing a tree can be. It’s beauty all around, you don’t gotta look too hard.
