Time… time is something we as humans take for granted on a daily basis. We ran out of time with you but you were needed for a bigger purpose else where. I will always be Tanya’s baby brother just like you’ll always be Derick’s big sister. Yesterday we celebrated you to the highest that we could. Hope you felt the love. As always, it’s not goodbye. It’s see you later.

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write in my life. Tanya, where do I even start. Since the moment me and Erick was born you was like our second mom. Remember them times in the projects when it was just us 3 and ma was at work. When we played house and you folded ma’s printer paper to make menus for breakfast for us and you served it in the kitchen over the ironing board because that was the counter top ? Those were the days. Or that time when you got your first job at Walgreens and you bought me an earring that ma didn’t like lol. Or when you were older and we didn’t want to drop you off to job corp so we kept saying we couldn’t find the place. Or that time you took us to the Worcester burn outs that one summer and we tried to sneak in and we got caught without bracelets. Or that same summer when had ya little apartment on chandler st and you made us listen to the Beyoncé album everyday for a week you let us eat chips for breakfast because we was at your house.

All those memories will never ever fade and I’ll remember them for as long as I live. You were the most upfront loving person anyone could ever meet.

Nothing will ever fill this void in our hearts. My heart hearts. For ma. For Erick. For tirrell. For tay. For yayi. For jayce. For dj for mari for everyone’s hearts that you’ve touched since 1982. Just please watch over us. We got it from here champ you did great! Love you Tanya may you rest in eternal peace. Wish I could hear you laugh just one more time. Or watch you play with the kids just once more.

10 years watching each other grow. 10 years of being my back bone ( iykyk) 10 years of watching me be broken and still make it happen. 10 years of you being the person I most confide in. 10 years of you pushing me to be the best version of myself. 10 years brought us apartments, cars, date nights , a house. But the greatest thing you have given me besides my 2 kids is all of you. Allowing me to dissect every part of you has been fun for the last decade. And I would do it again in any lifetime. Thank you for the past 10 and cheers to the next 10. You are the best mom. The best partner. The best cook. The best at telling me chill out when I get going on my tantrums. I could never put into any words how important you are in my world. As long as I’m writing this story with you, id read it a million times.
