Learning a little bit about the history of the DMZ, North Korea’s invasion of South Korea, the support they received from 22 countries in the UN, and the existing hope for reunification was such a special experience. My favorite part was Dora Observatory, but you’re not allowed to photograph or film. Being able to see propaganda village and freedom village from the roof and the juxtaposition of the two was intriguing. We also saw North Korean soldiers and two land mines set off while we were observing. Being able to meet and talk to a North Korean defector (a person who escaped the country), and seeing the third tunnel. Really an experience I’ll never forget. Praying for reunification! 🤍 also I LOVE the red suspension bridge!!! The hike was steeper than I expected though lmao. taken in DMZ - North & South Korean border by @therealerikaf
