Oh cheerleading...Writing this right now is making me sick. I never thought the day would come where I would have to leave the one thing I have truly loved. I thank God every day that I have been blessed with the talent and ability to do this with my best friends every single day. Gymnastics and cheer have always played a HUGE part in my life, and I never knew how I would live without it. Well here we are...17 years later and it's officially all over. Cheerleading has always been so much more than a sport to me, it has been my rock through everything. This season has been my hardest season yet with injuries, upsets, and disappointments, but no matter what I always gave everything I had and soaked it all in, because I knew all of this is all only temporary. The people I have met through this sport are like family to me, and I can't even imagine a world without them in it. They were never just my teammates, but some of the most important people I've ever had in my life. I thought I would never say it, but I will miss all the long practices, conditioning, and extra reps that I had the opportunity to do in an all star cheerleading gym, and I would give ANYTHING in the world to do another full out again. I would also like to thank my coaches who have made me truly fall in love with this sport, and my family and friends for supporting and being there for me throughout all of these years. Thank you Pittsburgh Pride All Stars for making my dream of being an all star cheerleader come true over these 3 years we've spent together. The love I have for cheerleading is of a different kind that I can't believe not everyone can experience. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to walk away from.
