This one was special, years of failure, years of mediocrity, years of frustration, but never without hope for each season. I became a Knicks fan when my favourite player Larry Johnson was traded to New York in 1996 and it’s been “orange and blue” ever since, we got close in 94 & 99 and then it was slim pickings for decades. When we got Melo in 2011 it felt like something special was brewing but it was heartache again, bad seasons, bad signings, bad back office leadership. Then the stars aligned, Leon Rose took control, Jalen Brunson arrived, Hart, Bridges, KAT, OG, GTA, Big Mitch Robinson, Shamet, coach Mike Brown, and beautiful basketball returned to NYC. This playoff run was special, it felt like destiny, as a fan it was fucking unreal to watch and as a dad that forced Knicks fans gear on his toddler son all those years ago I feel vindicated and all those shit years feel like it was worth going thru to get to here. NBA champions 2026, New York Knicks. This one’s for Patrick Ewing, Charles Oakley, Larry Johnson, John Starks, Carmelo Anthony, Bernard King, Latrell Sprewell.

18 today, what can I say? Joshua Robert Michael Powell was a little over 2kgs when he was born, white blonde hair and ready to take on the world. I’ve had front row seats to the best show in town watching you grow from my little boy to full grown man and you make me proud every single day. Enjoy your day my son, I love you more than words and cannot wait to have a beer with you very soon. Love Dad. by @therealjamiepowell

🎉🎂🥳 14 today!!! 🥳🎂🎉

Ben, 3 little letters that mean so much to me. You’re a firecracker that burns so bright, you keep us all on our toes and your wicked sense of humour takes no prisoners, especially when I’m the butt of your jokes.

I love you my son, enjoy your day.

Love Dad. by @therealjamiepowell

Treating the oldies to a Sunday pub dinner, doesn’t get much better than this, except when they ask for the most expensive f%€ken items on the menu….. taken in North Richmond, New South Wales, Australia by @therealjamiepowell

The running joke was that the first 6 years of my life was the golden period, glory days of just mum, dad and me. Then this kid comes along, a girl, stuffs my situation right up, kills the good thing we had going.

The truth is, that from the time Kristy Lauren Powell (now Buttigieg) entered our universe on this day our family was complete and we were all the more richer & fulfilled, albeit a little deaf!

Headstrong, argumentative, rebellious, loyal, loving, hilarious, and an amazing mum!

Enjoy your birthday little sister.
