The very first festival I applied for was with this song. It was in Atlanta and I didn’t think I would get it because here I was this new girl who’d only performed in restaurants in a corner next to the restroom for $50 for a 3 hour set. I can still remember the email telling me how I got the MainStage and how unusual it was for a new artist to be booked as a MainStage performer with ZERO experience of performing at this festival—let alone any festival at all. A week before the show an artist mixer was thrown and when I walked in the owner of the entire festival knew me by name and personally walked me around and introduced me to The Who’s who in the room. I mean this was the same people who booked and worked with some of the artists that I look up to to this day. Chantae Moore, Keke Wyatt and Algebra Blessett. I’ll never forget that feeling of validation and belief in myself. “You know that song you got called Allnight?” The stage director asked me.“This man listens to it on repeat. Hell I’m sick of it!” He said while the owner smiled and gave me the biggest hug. Since then I’ve touched more festival stages and each time I’m left with an open door to come back and do what I love on the MAINSTAGEIt’s still opening doors and I will forever be grateful for that.Next show in the bio!! #fyp #happybirthday🎂 #bts #reels #fyp by @therealjanellesymone
