Last night marked the closing night of the 21st annual @rumphclassic. It was us Bisogno Boy’s 2nd. I couldn’t be happier to be making this fantastic charity Pro-Am run an annual tradition to mark late-summer with!

30 years ago tonight I went to my 1st @guster show and didn’t know it would lay the groundwork for this easy wonderful life I have lived ever since. Trying to sum up @fifaworldcup 2026 in just 20 pics is criminal. FÚTBOL is the language of the world, and to be able to speak it in technicolor over 39 glorious days in our backyard (literally! “Philadelphia Stadium” is a leisurely 1.4mi/34m walk from our doorstep) was nothing short of a dream come true. I hope everyone enjoyed the ride. I know I am not the only one feeling an exceptional level of loss now that the tournament has ended.

I told @sjs273 that my biggest takeaway from all of this is that each World Cup is an opportunity to learn. Man, I learned so much…and hopefully helped teach Thom something along the way.

Just about time for Game 1 and I have gathered some thoughts…

I have talked about basketball and family many times before. Tonight is a game 27 years in the making for @nyknicks fans. While I won’t be in the same room as most of them, I have been thinking about a lot of my loved ones all day…and where they were during the ‘99 Finals. I think about my godson Christopher (pictured above with yours truly @thegarden earlier this year) who was 3 years young. Hoop is the root of our special bond. I think of @jijd31 who was 20 at the time, same as me, who I loosely recall watching a couple of those butt kickings handed out by @spurs probably at her parents house in NJ while we were on summer break before our senior year of college. I think of @sjs273 who never really cared for hoop before we got together. Our 1st year dating she took me to see NYK v @sixers at @xfinitymobilearena for my birthday (in a club box no less!) and proceeded to fall asleep In the 3rd quarter. She loves hoop now, mainly due to young @joelembiid’s Twitter antics, and coined the term “BooKnicks”. I think of all my NYK fan friends (you know who you are) who still welcome my texts to talk the team, even if social media shows/proves I am much deeper entrenched in @vj.edgecombe and his squad nowadays. Finally I think of Thom, our hoops loving toddler who holds @jalenbrunson1 as his 2nd favorite NBA player (@tyresemaxey is no.1 obvi). He probably won’t remember much of tonight but we’ll let him watch the 1st quarter and then listen on the radio at sleepytime. He has been asking when the game starts since he opened his eyes (at 445am, ugh). Daddy must be doing something right!

Just being able to share these @nba Finals with them is a gift. It ain’t about $5k tickets, Celebrity Row, or fear of @wemby stealing the hearts of the Orange and Blue faithful (and the league as a whole). It’s about the texts, the calls, the DMs, the knowing our eyes will be all locked into the same thing for a few nights this month. We are all together, just for a little bit…and that is what it’s all about to this hoops sicko.
