Traveling, practice, ups n downs of wins/loses, missing class, physical training demands, early mornings and late nights across the country. With it all… Nic finished up with high honors with a Bachelor in Accounting. : Of course we are all very proud of him and really appreciate the Michigan State basketball community led by the phenomenal Coach Izzo… that includes all of the components that make that Big Ten student athlete, experience work! ….Team administrators, academic counselors, assistant coaches, trainers, grad assistants, they all come together to create the overall experience! : Considering I am a wolverine☺️💛💙… I have been mighty impressed with this Spartan journey!💚💚💚💚 : Congratulations Nic! Empty Nester and post care giver here… let this be your reminder of the power of being with yourself, especially in “third spaces”, like cafés and other quiet public spaces. This is where a life reset happens ☺️ with just enough social energy to feel connected, but not drained. Being with yourself allows you to decompress, emotionally integrate what you’ve been through and gently reset your nervous system. Life moves in chapters. Let’s go MSU! Honestly, it was really great seeing so many people strolling, well, maybe more like speed walking along the streets of downtown headed to @littlecaesarsarena four @michiganstatebasketball game as the Spartans take on Oakland University. Even though it was just about 28°🥶🥶🥶 somehow, it didn’t feel miserable. It felt refreshing and wonderfully enjoyable… : And you can’t beat four dollar parking when you cross the street and it’s $45 and enjoying these moments with your great friends and family! : Not taking these moments for granted. Your EXAMINED life experiences alone are valuable …. I found that to be amazingly true when invited to share with some young ppl. : A good friend of the family who I have known for years because her mom was great friends with my Mom visited recently and stayed for 3 hours, chatting at my kitchen counter. : When she left, I was motivated, revitalized and encouraged… What she shared and poured into me was just what my spirit Needed. : I’m not one to say I’m an expert, but apparently what I had to share w those young ppl made a difference the way she made a difference for me. : Find that special space where your life experience can be transformational and encouraging for someone.
