Mary, you are my inspiration. For the past 15 years I’ve watched you attack the world with confidence and class and I’m always left feeling one way: inspired. Whenever there is a problem you don’t complain about it. You don’t try to avoid it. You roll up your sleeves and you get to work. And as you venture into this new chapter of your life, starting a new career, you once again come face to face with a problem and once again you have rolled up your sleeves and gotten to work. Throwing yourself into an entirely new profession, after 20+ years in the old one, is terrifying. But you make it look easy. It’s not, but you never show that it’s not. Being alongside you for this journey is the greatest pleasure of my life. I’m a better person with you in my life and I’m a better person for watching how you live your life. I loved you 15 years ago but some how I love you more now. Thank you for being my inspiration but more importantly, thank you for teaching me how to live life.
