Yesterday was our first Alzheimer’s Walk without my Uncle Gary. 💜

We’ve walked before, but this one felt completely different because this time, he wasn’t physically here with us.

Uncle Gary had Down syndrome and was nonverbal, but if you knew him, you knew he never needed words to make his presence known. His expressions, his personality, his joy 🥹 you could feel all of it. 🤍

This year, instead of walking beside him, we walked in honor of him.

I made our family shirts and created the balloons for the walk, and being able to use my creativity to honor him made this one even more personal. This wasn’t just décor for me. This was love.

And that last clip… 🥹🤍
That’s Uncle Gary.

Our first walk without you, but never without your memory. 💜🕊️ @alzassociation

This one was for you, Uncle Gary.

31. 🥹🎂🤍

I’ve spent so much of this year thinking about everything I’ve been through, everything I’ve lost, everything I’m still praying for, and everything God is still teaching me.

But for my birthday, I wanted to see myself through the eyes of the people who love me. 🥹

So I asked them to describe me in one word… and hearing their answers reminded me that sometimes we don’t even realize the impact we have on the people around us.

This year stretched me. It humbled me. It broke me in some places and strengthened me in others. But through it all, I’m still here. Still smiling. Still loving. Still creating. Still believing God has more for me. 🤍

Here’s to 31 🥹 softer, wiser, stronger, more intentional, and grateful for every person who has loved me through every version of Dominique.

Happy Birthday to me. 🥂✨

Second day of first grade and she’s already understood the assignment! 📚✏️🩷

When your mom is a balloon artist, back-to-school pictures hit a little different. 😂🎈

Praying for a year filled with growth, confidence, new friendships and God’s protection. First grade looks good on you, Bailey! 🥹✨ by @therealniqueee

Behind the balloons, the business, motherhood and all of life’s responsibilities… there’s still a girl who just wants to sing, dance and feel carefree. 🥹✨ Such a nostalgic night with people who have been part of my life for so long. Thank you, @boptothetoptour for creating a space for us to feel seen, make memories and be kids again. 💛🎶 by @therealniqueee
