State track/Graduation/Appreciation post all in one

First of all I kinda graduated from high school.

2nd I’m so thankful for all the support this state gives. From the fans in the stands, the coaches, teammates, competitors, volunteers, and everyone cheering us on.
I am grateful to be part of such an incredible running community and proud to compete in this state. Iowa knows how to put on a meet.

3rd, I want to thank my coach, Elaina Biechler. When I first met Elaina in 8th grade, I remember thinking, “Who the heck is this weird lady?” and, “Wait… she coaches the guys?” 😂 Little did I know, that relationship would turn into some of the best memories of my life. Over the years, she’s become so much more than a coach. She’s been a mentor, a role model, and truly like a second mother to me. Thank you for always believing in me, pushing me to be better, and being there through it all. I wouldn’t be where I am without you.

Lastly, I want to thank Canaan Dunham. We first ran against each other in 8th grade in the Distance Medley Relay at the Drake Relays, and who knew that four years later, this is where we’d be. Over the years, Canaan taught me a lot, especially how to be friends while still being competitors. He showed me that win or lose, we treat each other with the same respect every single time. I could go on for a long time about all the memories and lessons, but this post would never end. So in short, thank you, Canaan. I hope our paths cross again during our college careers, and I look forward to catching up the next time I see you.

So that’s it. I wish I had more words to conclude my Iowa high school career, but I’ll end it like a graduation speech: “Once a Bobcat, always a Bobcat.” taken in Drake Stadium by @therealquentinnauman

This kid really loves his state 🫶

An emotional Quentin Nauman shared his thoughts on racing in his final high school race at the Drake Relays and what it meant to go out on the track one last time in front of the Blue Oval crowd.

After winning the mile, the future Oregon Duck finished his Drake Relays career with seven 🏳️ flags, including six within the last two years.
