In late March 2026, I made one of the most difficult decisions of my life: I dropped out of BMC (Bilawal Medical College, LUMHS Jamshoro), and I did so for one reason — I simply could not give up on my dream of securing a merit seat.

It was not an easy decision. I was leaving a government MBBS college, and almost everyone around me — my family, peers, friends, and others — opposed my decision. But I took that decision anyway because, deep down, I believed that I could do it.

And here is my result.

This is an example of what happens when you believe in yourself, refuse to give up, and keep telling yourself, “I can do it,” even when nobody else believes in you. You have to believe in yourself first. You need that self-belief before anything else.

And believe me, it was not easy. I heard a lot of things because I chose to take this path. During one of my mock tests, one of my seniors even said, “What if you don’t even get a seat at BMC again? What if the merit goes higher and your score isn’t enough?” There were countless doubts and fears like these.

But I didn’t take them to heart. I did the hard work I needed to do, and I believed in myself. I stopped listening to what everyone else was saying and started listening to what I was saying to myself.

And that is what matters.

Today, I have scored 169 out of 180, which is 93.89%. With my FSC and Matric marks included, my adjusted MDCAT aggregate is 90.425 %, putting me in a secure position for a merit MBBS seat.

I have come this far because of my mother’s prayers, my hard work, and, above all, by the grace and praise of Almighty Allah.

Sometimes, you just have to believe in yourself enough to take the path that nobody else understands. ❤️

2025 (My MDCAT Year)

It took days and nights of hard work, but at least it’s finally over. Whatever score I have earned, I’m grateful to Almighty Allah and to everyone who prayed for me—especially my mamma, baba, my four siblings, and their six kids. I love all of them dearly. And, not to mention, my four best friends—they were there for me too.

MDCAT day completely cracked my brain, but Allah Almighty blessed me with patience and strength to get through it. I believe in His plan, whatever happens next. Trust me, this wasn’t easy. I have been scoring well throughout my life, but this particular phase completely made me question my abilities and took a toll on my mental health. Yet, somehow, MDCAT brought me closer to Allah and strengthened my connection with Him. Alhamdulillah.

May Allah make things easy for all of us and bless us with whatever is best for us. Ameen. by @therebelmedico

It was a really complicated time, but my friends tried to help me out, so things got a little better. The worst part was that I skipped two tests because of my intense anxiety about failing. Although I was always someone who believed that you should be proud of your failures, jab practically baat aayi toh I lost my belief in that.
