I’ve spent years learning board sports, surfing, snowboarding, skating. At some point I realized I wasn’t just learning a skill. I was learning the same process, over and over, in different bodies of water and snow.

Picture the outcome. Try it. Watch it go badly. Sit in the gap between what you imagined and what actually happened. Deal with the voice within.
That gap is where every single skill I’ve ever built actually got built. Not before it. In it.

This isn’t really about board sports. It’s the lens I see everything through now. Work, confidence, starting over, all of it.

Snowboarding is a hilarious addiction that sucks you in like a vacuum cleaner on turbo mode.

It’s like leveling up in the ultimate game of freeride and backcountry madness. You start off as a clumsy newbie, flailing around like a penguin on a skateboard, but oh boy, once you catch that addiction bug, there’s no turning back.

Suddenly, you find yourself chasing the perfect powder, dodging trees like a ninja, and pulling off tricks that make you feel like a superhero on a snow-covered stage.

The benefits? Well, besides the adrenaline rush that makes your heart do the cha-cha, there’s the sheer joy of feeling alive, the camaraderie of sharing wipeouts and triumphs with fellow addicts and to breath the nature around you.

Who decided that being distant was attractive?
That caring too much was cringe.
That passion needed to be hidden to be “cool”.

Somewhere along the way, we started confusing nonchalance with confidence.
Silence with power.
Detachment with maturity.

But here’s the truth no one says out loud:

The people who actually live full lives
are not the ones playing it safe emotionally.

They’re the ones who get obsessed.
Who try things before they feel ready.
Who text first.
Who ask the question.
Who share what lights them up even if their voice shakes.

Being alive is not about appearing unbothered.
It’s about being moved.

Every meaningful thing in my life came from caring too much:
snowboarding when it scared me,
moving countries without guarantees,
building connections instead of pretending I didn’t need them,
choosing passion over approval again and again.

You don’t get points for being neutral.
You don’t get memories from playing small.
And you definitely don’t build a life you love by acting like nothing matters.

So noooo, I’m not nonchalant.
I’m present.
I’m curious.
I’m invested.

I’ll be obsessed.
I’ll try new things.
I’ll share what I love.

Because we don’t get infinite chances.
We get this one.

And I’m not wasting it pretending I don’t care.

After all these years in the water, you’d think I’d have some things figured out by now. Well… here are a few:

🐚 1. You can’t force a good session. Some days everything clicks. Other days you question whether you’ve ever surfed before.
Take a deep breath, slow down, and go easy on yourself.

🐚2. Confidence comes and goes. Even after years in the water, there are days when I feel like a complete beginner. I’ve learned not to make such a big deal out of it. There’s nothing to prove.

🐚3. The ocean doesn’t care about your plans. You can show up with all the expectations in the world, but you still have to work with whatever the day gives you. Keep your vision, stay focused, and enjoy the moment.

And somehow, I keep learning these things over and over again. 😂

I spent the last few days doing the Landmark Forum and I’m still processing a lot of it.

One thing that really stayed with me was noticing how much of our behavior can be shaped by the conversations happening in our own heads, what people might think, how we might be perceived, whether something is “us” enough to share.

I want to share more of what I’ve been cultivating behind the scenes too, the things I’m learning, questioning, creating, reading, trying, failing at… alongside all the surfing, clothes and random life stuff that’s already here.
Because this forum definitely made me come back to myself and embraced it all.

Less editing myself. More actual connection.
