It's been a while since I've posted anything about my guiding adventures but over the last couple of weeks I've had the pleasure of guiding @smokeysfishpal. I haven't had that much fun guiding in a while lots of laughs and a few hard fighting fish. Definitely going to make it a point to head out to her neck of the woods more this year.

If anyone gets the opportunity to fish with Master P do it.

Thanks to my pal @dryflyking, I’ve developed an affection for carp. I had no idea how technical it was to fish for these smart, strong, spooky “trash” fish until I started chasing them with Seth. I’d heard about Urban Fishing in the Canals of Phoenix, and had to give it a shot, but this small town gal didn’t really want to venture into the depths of downtown Phoenix for the first time alone. Multiple friends told me to check out Kris Bare at Pheasant Tail Flyfishing, and I’m so glad I did. Kris is the dude for Urban AZ Flyfishing (and really for all AZ Flyfishing). What a great day walking the canals and experiencing flyfishing in a way I’d never imagined. Your casting and setting game best be on point for the most success with these slimy survivors. Thanks to Kris’ knowledge, experience, skills and patience, he was able to put this vision- and reflex-impaired, arthritically-challenged but willing carp aficionado on some hard-fighting little grassies. I did not expect the Lower Salt River to be so beautiful, challenging and fun to fish! Anyone who knows me knows how much I appreciate native fish, and how much I love me a bottom feeding sucka fish! So blessed to spend a perfect winter day on the river with @pheasanttailflyfishing top notch guide @thereelbaretrap chasing natives and getting me the hook up with a Salt River Sucker Slam. The Sonoran sucker and Desert sucker were gorgeous, hard fighting gems that I was privileged to meet. Thanks for showing me desert fishing at its finest, Kris!
