I don’t really watch football/soccer.So I definitely didn’t expect a 0-0 match to make me fall in love with the sport. What surprised me wasn’t the game itself. It was everything around it.The MARTA ride packed with fans. The conversations outside the stadium. People from different countries, backgrounds, and languages all showing up for the same experience.It reminded me why I love global games so much! You don’t need to know every rule to feel the energy.While I know not everyone can watch in the stadium I HIGHLY recommend going to one of the many viewpoints available ESPECIALLY if you’re near one of the 16 host cities. Take Ski lessons from a certified instructor3. 🫨Learn how to fall properly (it’ll save you)4. Use Ski Poles5. Don’t get overzealous. You MIGHT be good your first couple tries but you’re still a beginner 6. The Olympics - My thoughts so far ⬇️⁣⁣⏰ - There’s not enough time in the day to do everything (Sight see, Socalize, Watch games, etc) + The time change is still kicking my butt 🤣⁣⁣🥵- Walking around in this Parisian heat has me feeling like I’m an Olympian myself. Expecting your drink to come w/ ice, or even AC at the cafe/restaraunt? Good luck. Be prepared to SWEAT! ⁣⁣⭐️- Watching the greatest athletes in the world compete live is INSPIRING. Even if you don’t know much about the team or sport. The sheer effort it takes & the pressure of being watched by millions while remaining locked in has me taking notes 📝 ⁣⁣🫂- I always thought food & music were the only things that could bring people together. There’s a sense of camaraderie amongst the crowd that I’ve never experienced before. Happy Independence Day Jamaica 🥳🇯🇲⁣⁣62 years + 87 Olympic medals & counting ⁣⁣Didn’t get to see Shelly-Ann Fraser Price run in what was to be her last Olympic 100m race⁣⁣However, I got to see other amazing athletes represent the island & got @rickettsshanieka to sign my flag. ⁣⁣Also, met many other Jamaicans from all over the world at the Jamaica house which included ⁣- Food⁣- Souvenirs⁣- Trivia & activities ⁣- Bar & lounge ⁣And more⁣⁣Thankful to have experienced the Olympics.
