The secret’s out... 👀

We are incredably excited to finally announce that The Reflex will be joining resident Reuben Lowe behind the decks for our Streetlife launch party.

If you know your disco and house, chances are you’ll already know the name.

The project of producer and DJ Nicolas Laugier, The Reflex has built a huge following for his unmistakable mixes of classic tracks, earning support from some of the biggest names in the scene including The Blessed Madonna, Disclosure, Kerri Chandler, Purple Disco Machine, DJ Harvey and Gilles Peterson.

His work has clocked up over 100 million streams, with remixes and revisions spanning everyone from Nile Rodgers and Blondie to Cerrone, Purple Disco Machine and Róisín Murphy. His debut original single Weekend, released through Glitterbox, went straight to #1 on the Traxsource overall chart.

And most importantly for us... his sets are rooted in the spirit of what Streetlife is all about. 🪩

Having him join us for our first ever night is pretty special, and we can’t wait to share the dancefloor with you.

📍 The Street, Edinburgh
📅 Sunday 6th September
🕕 6PM – 1AM
🎧 Reuben Lowe + The Reflex

One last dance before Monday.

Comment ‘JUNOPICKS’ to listen!

We can't resist the carefully fused and treated sounds of The Reflex who shows his class again here with more multitrack remixes that bring vintage grooves bang up top dates without stripping them of their seasoned charms. 'Cherry Dub' is packed with big riffs and well known vocal-hooks but is dubbed out top perfection with screeching guitar solos destined to send dancers wild. The flip side is a more warm and breezy roller for sunny days and cocktail sessions, again with an iconic vocal and top line adding that familiarity that always unites dancers.

Welcome to the fourth and last instalment of the collaboration between THE REFLEX’ @discolidays label and @becausemusic in Paris, remixing gems from the @zagorarecords catalogue. On this new single , two songs by the GIBSON BROTHERS get The Reflex remix treatment, after a chance discovery of multitrack sessions thought to have been lost forever, saved on an old Data CD and brought back to life for the 21st century via these two Reflex revisions. ‘Heaven’ from the 1978 album of the same name, is now a storming underground disco affair, slightly slowed down to a more DJ friendly 130 bpm with a huge proto-house piano breakdown and devilish percussions. ‘You’, a lesser known song from the 1979 ‘Cuba’ album, also runs at 130 bpm and its chords structure sounds like a @breakbot track, but 50 years earlier. Another proof – if one was needed – of the pioneering work from Daniel Vangarde and the Zagora catalogue done in the late 70’s and early 80’s! Vinyl lands next week courtesy of @junorecords - ALL LINKS IN BIO 💪💥🎈

🤌 Just look as these line-up additions. Joining us for a secret disco in Italy’s most beautiful city are…

🪩 All-star disco demi-god The Reflex
🪩 Parisian boogie royalty Donna Gibson
🪩 Lofty Talking Drums stalwart Joss
🪩 Party-starting mixtress Suka Meneri
🪩 Internet saviour Delonte Rivers

If you’re a fan of rare and classic disco, supernaturally beautiful architecture, world-class carbohydrates and mind-blowing parties, there’s still chance to join us in Matera, southern Italy (final tickets in bio).

A pop-up disco in an ancient convent in the middle of a UNESCO heritage site? Si, perfetto 🇮🇹.
