A letter to my sister 🦋🦋

It still feels strange to write to you like this, as if these words have to travel farther than they ever did before. But I believe with all my heart that love doesn’t stop at heaven’s door. It stretches beyond what we can see, carried by God’s grace, reaching you wherever you are.
Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you. I miss your voice, your laughter, the way you understood me without explanation. You were more than my sister — you were my safe place, my built-in best friend, my constant in a world that changes too quickly.
When God called you home in 2022, my heart broke in a way I didn’t know was possible. I didn’t understand it. Some days I still don’t. But I hold on to the belief that God’s love is bigger than my pain, and that you are wrapped in a peace so beautiful it makes every tear worth it. I imagine you whole, joyful, free shining in a light that never fades.
You taught me so much without even trying. You showed me strength in hard times, kindness when it wasn’t easy, and love without conditions. Even now, you continue to teach me how to treasure the people around me, how to forgive faster, how to say “I love you” without waiting for the perfect moment.
I want you to know that your life still matters here. Your memory is alive in every story we tell, every laugh that sounds a little like yours, every tradition we keep because you loved it. You are written into my heart permanently. Nothing ,not even death , can undo that.
Sometimes when I feel overwhelmed, I talk to God about you. I thank Him for choosing me to be your sibling. What a gift that was. What an honor. Even though our time together feels too short, I would choose you as my sister in every lifetime.
I promise to carry your light forward. I promise to live in a way that would make you proud. I promise to keep loving deeply, just like you did. And when my faith feels small, I trust that God is holding both of us you in His presence, and me in His comfort.
Until the day we meet again, I will hold you in every prayer, every sunrise, every quiet moment where I feel you near.
