The Riley Method™
A masterclass in building a well-lived life.
Career • Money • Motherhood • Home • Health • Love

POSTS STORIES REELS

I talk about a lot of things on this page. Career. Money. Motherhood. Home. Health. Relationships. Standards. Peace.

But to me, all of it is the same conversation.

How are you living?

Not how does it look. Not what do people think. Not what did you accomplish this year.

How does your actual life feel?

Because you can have a great career and be miserable. You can make good money and still make bad decisions with it. You can love your children deeply and still have to be intentional about how you raise them. You can have a beautiful home and no peace in it. You can be in a relationship and still feel lonely. You can take care of everybody else and completely neglect yourself.

I don’t believe in building one part of your life and letting everything else fall apart.

Your money should give you options. Your career should support the life you want to live. Your home should feel good to come back to. Your health should allow you to enjoy the life you’re building. Your relationships should add something good to it. Your standards should keep you from accepting things you already know do not work for you.

And peace does not just happen. You have to build a life that makes room for it.

That is what I mean by a well-lived life.

Not a perfect life. Not a life that just looks good.

A life that is actually working for you.

That’s The Riley Method™.

We love our babies, but I think it’s safe to say the only thing we’ll be pushing from here on out is WEIGHT! 😂🏋🏽‍♀️💪🏿 by @therileymethod

When you know you’re solid, genuine and good to people, you never have to wonder who took the loss.

And I mean that disrespectfully.

Did yall vote yet?

I can’t believe my baby will officially be old enough to vote on his own ballot in the next election.

A little luxury unboxing. And apparently my grown woman definition of luxury now includes new @adidas , wine glasses, drinking glasses and an air fryer from @homegoods.

I did a little shopping online too. A few pieces from the @asos x adidas drop, some products from @sephora, and new bras from @skims.

And the money I didn’t spend? It can sit right where it is until I find something I absolutely love. Otherwise, it gets invested.

One thing about me, I’m not going to spend money just because I have it to spend. I don’t need to buy something expensive just to say I bought something expensive. If I don’t love it, I leave it.

That’s probably one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned about money. You don’t have to consume everything you can afford.

A girl at the gym asked me to move the other day so she could get her shot. Mind you, she was filming in the main workout area where my trainer already had all of our weights set up.

A friendly reminder: Your content is your responsibility.

I’m a content girl too. But if I’m filming in a shared space, I adjust around other people.

But expecting strangers to move so you can get the shot?

Absolutely not.

My baby is 17 today. 🥹

I wanted to do something a little different for his birthday this year. We have such a great relationship, and I’m so proud of the young man he’s becoming.

He’s thoughtful, funny, loving, and just a really good teenager in a world where that is not something I take for granted.

These are five questions I’ve asked him over the years that I think have helped us stay close as he’s gotten older. Just little things I do as his mom to make sure we’re still talking, still connected, and still enjoying life together.

Happy 17th birthday, SKB. I love being your mom. ❤️ by @therileymethod

You have to be intentional about the life you want, and then honest about whether your choices are actually building it.

Heavy on the “this is between me and myself.”

Because at the end of the day, nobody else can build your life for you.

I chose to have one child. Intentionally.

I knew the kind of life I wanted for myself and the kind of life I wanted to give my child. I wanted us to travel. I wanted us to have experiences. I wanted freedom, options and the ability to say yes to more of the things that make life good.

There’s no reward for having more children than you want and then struggling to maintain the life you wanted. Motherhood didn’t have to mean giving up mine.

I planned a well-lived life for BOTH of us. And we’re living it.

I can’t stress this enough: Have the number of children that makes sense for the life YOU want to live.

Take the vacation.

Not the vacation where you’re checking Teams from the beach, answering “one quick email” and staying available just in case.

The actual vacation.

You earned the days. Take the days. The work will still be there when you get back.

I got a notification the other day that after 20 months, I was reaching the limit on my accrued vacation hours because I hadn’t used them. Say less..

A well-lived life requires knowing when to be available and when to be completely unavailable.

Here’s your sign to host your friends for a Muumuus & Mimosas brunch.

Great food. Lots of champagne. Games. Girl talk. Way too much laughing. The men watched football. Everybody won.

Such a fun way to celebrate my girl @lizrelax birthday.

Sometimes the best plans really are just good people, good food and somebody’s house.

I’d absolutely do this again.
