@borderlandfestival once again, you did not disappoint! Now we’re looking forward to hearing, “we saw you for the first time at Borderland, so we had to buy a ticket.” Festivals like this lay the foundation for growing bands like ours. Like many of our other favorite festivals, Borderland is becoming a Rollin’ Rust staple. See you again soon! Thanks again Fam. ❤️

Nice to meet you @btpmthebridge, thanks for talking with us 🎥

Huge shoutout to all the photographers and videographers out there capturing the moment.

This isn’t a normal show for our band by any means.

As always, we’re super excited to rock out at @funknwaffles — but this one is also serving as the going-away party for our beloved drummer — Stone Cold 🥶 Kyle Dennis. @kial.kial.kial

Come out and celebrate one of the guys who helped put our band on the map. 🗺️ 🚨I would get your tickets online now, they won’t last. 🚨Ticket Link in Bio. 🎟️

Let’s send him off with a bang. ❤️ 💥

Some Backstory: @jamesvandeuson

The Rollin’ Rust started as a text thread between Kyle and I when I was living in California. We were catching up. I asked if he’d play drums on my next record.

COVID dragged me back home from a solo tour Rebecca had booked. Her and I were down in Georgia, planning to head west through Texas. Rebecca’s email started blowing up. In 48 hours, 45 shows disappeared.

Rough… but going home to New York also meant Kyle and I could finally get together and work on that music. Still serving as my only earthly example of fate, @jim_hearn_ happened to be moving back from Colorado that same week.

I never played in bands before The Rollin’ Rust — or with many people at all. I distinctly remember telling Kyle after one of those first practices that I didn’t think I was good enough to play with them. Kyle kept telling me it was normal to suck in the beginning and that we’d get “super tight” if we just kept practicing. “It takes time to click.”

That type of patience/friendship allowed space for us to work out literally everything over the years. Our continued belief in the music we make is born from that space - the realization that anyone with some basic talent and some good buds, can create something worth showing people.

It was never intended to be a band. We never expected to play huge stages or sell tickets. (We hoped for sure). I can’t recall exactly when or how it became such a thing, but I’m very glad it was, and always will be, beside close friends.

I can say with 100% certainty that whatever comes next for The Rollin’ Rust will forever sit on the foundation Kyle helped us build.

Come hang out and show Kyle some love.

October 17th. Funk ’n Waffles. Syracuse.

Let’s pack it. 🥁❤️ Tickets ⤵️ taken in Funk 'n Waffles Syracuse by @therollinrustband

Really neat to have some fresh ears listen to Southern Sun! 🌞Even cooler that @sugarshacksessions “gold starred” us. Florida sounds pretty nice, that’s all we’re sayin’ 😉 by @therollinrustband

A little over a month ago we started a campaign to sell a ton of Rollin’ Rust band merch. We figured if we made a good video and advertised it across the states, we could probably raise enough money for a new band van. The pressure was on. 💪🎸🕺 Our van quickly became unsafe for us to ride in… our time was ticking…

The response we received was overwhelming. 🚀 We had folks from all over the United States buy our merch and donate to the Van Fund — 39 states!!! We’re estimating that around 85% of the names on that list had no idea that our band existed before this — pure generosity and a shared love for music. 🎸 We also had one very generous person who helped us get to the finish line much quicker than we anticipated. (Thank you again.)

So… thanks to friends, family, fans, and total strangers… The Rollin’ Rust now has a really clean commercial van that will take us wherever we need to go, safely and in style. 💅

The Van — 2017 Chevy Express Passenger 2500 4.8L V8 — She has no rust and low mileage. It was a government vehicle, fleet-maintained, with extraordinarily low engine idle time. 🚌🚌🚌 Believe it or not, it’s what working bands dream of! 😆

I mean it when I say — we couldn’t be more thankful. Thank you for helping The Rollin’ Rust achieve our goals and eventually our dreams. What happens now??? We’ll just be out here making more music and doing more touring — hopefully meeting some of the folks that made this possible. ❤️

More info: We are fulfilling the last of the orders now. We did have to order new CDs 😊 💿 They are on their way. ✈️ As soon as they come in, we’ll be shipping out the last of the packages. 📦

🚨 If you wanted to buy a shirt or hoodie but planned on doing it at a later time — you can still purchase the Van Fund design for one more week! It will be discontinued on September 20th. 🚨

❤️ If for any reason you have an issue with an order, please message us on Facebook or Instagram, or get hold of us on our website. We will make it right and get it right out to you! 🚌 by @therollinrustband
